The singular BEST Italian Restaurant in Québec, we had the best service with the nicest smiles & the food was cheap 10$ Only for pastas!!! 10/10 will highly recommend!

My husband, brother & his wife went to Birra & Basta for dinner for the first time. We were first of few before dinner rush & really liked the vibes of the restaurant. We got our drinks & ordered apps & our mains.

We received our apps & they were hot & tasted great!
A family was seated beside us about 20-25 mins after we had arrived & we finished our apps as they arrived. They ordered their food & actually got their entrees before we did. We waited an additional 20+ mins to receive our entrees. We asked twice if there was an update & the waiter let us know it was coming. The table beside us finished their meal before we even received ours. It was very strange. We were patient & luckily we were starving by any means but it wasn't a great first impression.

We also were stuff together with the family beside us & then another English speaking family RIGHT BEHIND US. My husband & brother's chairs were directly in front of the other family's table & my husband had to apologize trying to pull out when we were leaving. I don't know if the English speaking people were placed in certain parts of the restaurant but it was uncomfortable stuffed together since we were chair to table hitting one another on one side. & then the other family getting their food before us.

It's too bad because the woman who greeted us when we came in was so kind! The waiter was calm, cool & collected. But it just wasn't a positive experience.

Get the gnocchi I will say!
