Restaurant is really cute & cozy. The food was good & felt homestyle with fresh ingredients. $30 Thursday promo was great (main plus wine/beer for $30). We felt it would have been nice to have bread at the table to start, & also to have with our mains. I ordered Ossobucco which was good but very soupy. Again the bread would have been a nice addition. My wife ordered Phil's Carbonara which was delicious. It had lots of peameal bacon. All food was portioned well, we struggled to finish it all.

We came to St Malo for our engagement celebration & the staff welcomed us with champagne & the best spot in the restaurant. The servers (I dont know their names but it was a lovely lady: working on Sunday June 8th around 7 PM) who was very hospitable & made sure we were taken care of.

The Duck Confit is remarkable at this restaurant & so is the French 75! I would absolutely recommend the Onion Soup & Escargots as well.

Thank you to St Malo team for making our moment so special! We would love to come back!

Ordered chicken, paella, French onion soup & escargots.

Chicken - 1 Star. Dry & flavorless. Basically just a grilled chicken with almost equally flavorless sauce.

Paella - 2 Stars. I'm a fan of paellas, was really disappointed with this particular version.

French onion soup - 4 Stars. Very different from what I'm used to but it was rich & tasty.

Escargot - 3 Stars. I've never had escargot with melted cheese on top. Prefer without the cheese.

Server was excellent & atmosphere was quite good. Wish we had chosen different items on the menu however.

A Must visit Bistro resto -good food, tasty mussels, cream, onion soup, beef cheek & carbonara. Amazingly delicious.

This place is perfect. The french soup was the best my wife & I ever had. We were treated so well by our waiter who brought us some maple syrup to try at the end of our dinner (as well as dessert wine). The food was phenomenal. The atmosphere was cozy. We cannot wait to come back.

Had high hopes based on the thousands of good reviews, but quite disappointed. Ordered beef cheek & seafood stew as waitress saying these are the popular dishes. Beef cheek is ok, very tender, nothing special. Seafood stew is apparently all frozen shrimp & frozen fish, I can taste the staleness of the fish, not recommended at all. French onion soup is ok, a bit too salty to my liking. I had better ones elsewhere. Overall disappointed.

Good side is service is pretty good, restaurant has good vibes.

Second time here & does not disappoint. Mussels are delicious as well as the French onion soup. Service was fantastic as well.

Do not miss coming here if you are in Quebec City!

Wonderful evening at this lower town gem. Our server Camille was kind & welcoming, with great recommendations & lots of patience with our party which included two first time parents, their 5-month old baby, & the child's grandmother. The preparation & presentation of our meal, especially the cassoulet & the onion soup, were outstanding. Special thanks to the whole kitchen crew who are clearly exceptionally skilled & passionate about serving delicious, honest food with humour & grace. Truly something special to serve such outstanding food without becoming self-serious or pompous about it. No one was too busy to make funny faces at the baby from the kitchen pass or set a dancing Santa up on the bar for him to watch. Thanks again for a wonderful night, we will be back as soon as we can.

We stumbled upon this Bistro for a nightcap & realized that we found a jewel, not just the ambiance but staff as well. The following night, we returned for our last meal before our vacation was over. The food was exquisite, the staff makes you feel like family, & Chef/owner Phillipe is remarkably talented. We had the beef cheeks, pasta carbonara & French onion soup. Camille, who served us - you are a true joy & anyone who meets you will realize this. We can't recommend this restaurant highly enough!!!

Such a cute & cozy bistro! The staff was attentive even though it was very busy & the food was delicious. We had a French onion soup, seafood stew, beef cheeks & the duck along with a pitcher of sangrias. All the dishes were delightful.
