I was looking to have a special meal while in old Quebec City. I thought of having something with duck confit, but was happily diverted, by my server Andrea, to try a seafood stew instead. Ragoût de la Mer. It contained only seafood, unlike some places where they add potatoes & other fillers. Andrea helped pair my meal with a glass of Sauvignon blanc that made the stew that much more special. Lastly, she tempted me with dessert, which I didn't think I had room for, but found it, especially as it was one of my favourites - creme brûlée! It was the softest & silkiest of creams & the caramel thick & crunchy. I've found most creme brûlées are more like custard, but this one was thick delicious cream, made with amaretto. This meal was a bit of a splurge, but so worth it. On top of else, I had an outdoor table & felt as if I was in Paris again.

In the lower Old Town. Large portions & authentic French. The boudin noir was moist & flavorful. I would go back there every time in the city.

We spent 3 days in Quebec & had many a good meal, but the one at Bistro St. Malo was the best. The Beef Cheek Bourguignonne was so tender & flavorful with a delicious gravy. The root vegetables were well cooked & still had just the right amount of crunch in them. I had to order the bread so I could sop up every bit of gravy on my plate. My wife had the Seafood Stew & was just as pleased. The staff was very helpful in recommending what to order. Service was cheerful & friendly. We will definitely return the next time we visit Quebec.

Les plats sont excellents & le service attentionné. Le décor n'est pas de mon goût & ne reflétait pas la finesse des plats servis selon moi mais au final ce qui compte c'est ce que l'on a dans l'assiette !

Ohlala le service que j'ai reçu ici était extraordinaire!! La dame (serveuse) qui travaille là était sympa, amicable, accueillante & professionnelle! Elle savait tout le temps ce dont j'avais besoin! 5 étoiles ne sont pas suffisants pour eux, il leur faut au moins 10 étoiles!
