Their macarons are absolutely delicious - light, crisp, & bursting with flavor in every bite. Pair them with their rich, creamy hot chocolate, & you've got the perfect treat to enjoy while taking in the cozy café atmosphere. The place itself is charming & elegant, with a warm vibe that makes it easy to relax & savor the moment. Whether you're stopping by for a quick break or a slow afternoon indulgence, Café La Maison Smith Notre-Dame never disappoints!
J adore venir ici pour les viennoiseries & leur café est excellent! Toujours du monde mes services rapides!
Café La Maison Smith Notre-Dame is an absolute gem. The iced salted caramel latte was perfectly balanced-smooth, rich, & not overly sweet-while the lemon tarte was bright, fresh, & beautifully presented. The space feels warm & welcoming, with staff who are genuinely kind & attentive. A wonderful spot to pause, recharge, & enjoy thoughtfully crafted food & drinks in the heart of Old Québec.
Vraiment exceptionnel.
We tried this café for breakfast & ordered a plain croissant, an almond croissant, Portuguese tarts, & a cappuccino. The croissants were excellent, among the best we had during our trip to Quebec. The coffee was decent as well.
It's probably the most beautifully situated café in the lower town. Situated by a public square & a church, it's perfect for people-watching or simply enjoying a sunny day.
Here's an observation, only I Quebec & I hear possibly in France do cafes not understand' I want a coffee', instead of saying an Americano why don't you join the world with a container of'regular' coffee, it's easier,faster- charge the same as Americano, what's the problem? Ah Oui monsieur the problem is we are French, ha ha , not meant in a bad way , have a great day!!
Been there during Christmas, cozy environment, good cafe just didn't surprised me as the reviews said. They have good hot chocolates though.
Food: 5/5 - I had the fruit tart with sencha tea. The tart was fresh & not too sweet. There's a good selection of teas. There's also hot & cold drinks to choose from.
Service: 5/5 - friendly server
Atmosphere: 5/5 a nice vibe to the place with additional seating outside underneath an awning just like a cafe in Paris. There are some seats looking out into the small courtyard.
A difficult place to find as there are steep stairs leading down off the main road.
