Very nice experience in beautiful setting.

No thank you. Super over priced & not the best service for the money. You are paying for the experience. We arrived at 645pm with our children, ordered right away, & waited a full hour for our first course. The restaurant was not nearly full & given it’s a fixed menu & there is one salad choice & one other starter perhaps this could have been brought out a bit faster given our two little children. The salad was a nice little piece of edible art. My wife had the salmon tartare & really enjoyed it. In the meantime, it took at least 20+ minutes for my cocktail to arrive which I could swear was just a glass of orange juice with a shot in it, orange mechanique? Nothing special at all. The seabass entree baked in bread was quite enjoyable & a nice table side presentation. The children’s salmon was good but the vegetables were all completely undercooked. Dessert was inspired but not anything out of this world. The service was very stuffy & left quite a lot to be desired, especially given the high price point. Additionally, I had made note on two occasions prior to arrival this was a very special birthday for my wife & the extent of their consideration was a tiny little piece of chocolate bark with “happy birthday” written on it. It is most certainly a very beautiful restaurant on the inside. Overall though, not for us.

Note: the breakfast experience was much more enjoyable & the service was a lot more pleasant.

We were at Chez Muffy last night. It has a beautiful atmosphere & the service was good, but for the price, it is substandard to the other high end restaurants that we have visited during our stay in Quebec. Our bill was $650 for 2 of us. One of us had the wine pairing & we had the tasting menu, $120 for 4 courses. However, they charged extra for the fish dish & extra for another dish. Most of the dishes were just not THAT special. Some quite bland tasting. The quantity & quality/taste of the food did not come close to the other restaurants & certainly didn't warrant the price.
We ate at some amazing restaurants while in Quebec.. paid similar prices OR LESS. At the other restaurants we walked away feeling "Wow!" At Chez Muffy, we were completely disappointed & felt cheated!

Probably one of the best dinner we have had. The decor is beautiful. The staff was extremely helpful, knowlegeable & efficient. The food was very creatively conceived & petfectly executed as well as elegantly presented. If you have never had a dessert made with aspargus, you must try it Chez Muffy. It is absolutely delicioius.
Despite many customers, the noise level was great & the music was adapted to the environment, not blasting unbearable sounds.
We had a wonderful birthday dinner. Thank you.

I'm sorry to say that while the location & service was excellent, the food did not meet expectations. First, although beautifully presented, it was very bland & too concentrated on asparagus & sous-vide techniques . The clams in the appetizer was strange & the bits of caviar hid the taste of the lovely asparagus. I'm not sure the sous-vide technique did the halibut justice & was quite tasteless. Lastly, I like asparagus, but asparagus ice cream for dessert? But what do I know? C'est la vie!

The review is based on two Breakfasts & one Dinner.

Breakfast 1: Le Saint-Antoine

The two eggs (over easy) were cooked to perfection. The gooey yolk oozed out of them & blended well with the bacon, sausage, & ham. However, in my opinion, this was not the star of the meal. It was definitely the multigrain bread with caramel spread & the endless coffee - you get a choice of endless coffee, juice, etc. The spread was so rich & tasted like heaven when it was paired with my cappuccinos. 5/5

Dinner

Too long to write so I am not going to put so much detail into this review.

Chef's special appetizer:

Not sure what it was but it tasted great!

Appetizer:

Foie Gras - Amazing! The Foie Gras was a highlight of the meal. It was very tender & blended well with the brioche. The brioche paired so elegantly with the foie gras & was heated very nicely in what looked like a beautiful glass orb.

Main course: Lamb. The lamb was cooked so fine that when you chewed on it, you could feel the texture of the different surfaces. It was paired well with the leek, daisy buttons, & lettuce. Some may think that the lamb would be the highlight of this course, but they are wrong. It is definitely the daisy buttons on too of the lettuce. It made the lettuce more pronounced & very earthy!

Dessert:

Maple Candy Cap

Amazing dessert! The Maple Candy Cap came with tons of goodies that tasted like, well maple. For example, there was ice cream, leaves, etc all infused with maple. However, this too was not the highlight of the dessert! It was the small chocolate's that were shaped as stones. I would be remiss to say that these chocolate stones were fantastic!

Well worth the price. Price will vary on what you order. Foie gras cost extra.

Con: Long wait time to get the food prepared. However, they do say that food is an form of art.

4.5/5 Due to wait time. I did not expect to eat for 2.5 hours. It was amazing though!

Breakfast 2: Lu Fumoir

Poached egg with escargot & smoked salmon.

I think you already know what I am going to say.

Amazing. 5/5
