Couple of cocktails during Happy Hour, 2 duck with potatoes, salad with the roasted peaches, goat cheese & prosciutto & the trout with corn mash & asparagus. Duck a little dry but good taste. Peach salad, trout with corn smash & potatoes accompanying the duck delicious. Drinks good- enjoyed lovely summer evening outside. Penelope our server engaging. Would go again.
Amazing lunch! A family business. The best asparagus soup I've ever had. A lovely salad with goat cheese & peaches. My friends had the burger with tasty fries. Everything clearly homemade. I wish I were in Old Quebec one more night so I could go back for their poutine!

La Buchette - Buvette Québécoise in Quebec City offers a cozy, Quebec chalet-style ambiance with original stone decor. They accommodate gluten intolerance & craft a healthier version of the classic McCain cake. The service is exceptional, the traditional poutine was delicious, & everyone enjoyed their food. Their breakfast sausage, stuffed with cheese, is a must-try-perfectly seasoned, juicy, & full of flavor. The charming patio is perfect for savoring local flavors & custom cocktails. A must-visit for an authentic, welcoming experience!
I visited this restaurant based on the positive reviews. We were greeted warmly. I ordered the cheese omelette without bread (the image isn't my plate) & specifically mentioned I didn't want any bread to avoid wasting food. The omelette & hash browns were quite tasty. However, as I was about to pay, I asked the server for a small favor; a tiny piece of fruit to help balance my sugar rush. The server checked with the kitchen & returned with a few measly berries. I found this a bit off-putting, especially since the dish was already overpriced compared to others. It left me feeling that customer satisfaction wasn't a top priority. A good business model is built on keeping customers happy & encouraging them to return, & unfortunately, this experience didn't quite hit that mark.

The atmosphere was warm & inviting, & the staff were incredibly friendly & accommodating - especially with our kid! The menu offered a great selection of French-inspired dishes that catered to both adults & children. The standout dishes for us were the French onion soup (rich, flavorful, & perfectly caramelized) & the cheese fondue ( creamy, indulgent, & utterly addictive). The cocktails were also expertly crafted & delicious! What truly made our evening special, however, was the exceptional service. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, & went above & beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. We can't wait to return to La Buchette & experience it all again! We were just wandering around trying to find food & came across La Buchette. It definitely lives up to its high rating & probably deserves even more attention. I shared a Brunch Plate (Assiette Brunch) with a friend & ordered a Crepe as an extra. The Brunch Plate was everything you'd want for a wholesome brunch. The salmon salad was so fresh, & for someone who rarely eats raw food, I have to say I loved it! The sausage was also really good. The egg with cheese inside was such a nice touch, & the hashbrown was cooked perfectly-crispy on the outside & soft on the inside. The Crêpe I added as an extra was also great, especially paired with maple syrup & fresh fruit. The environment was cozy & home-like, & we got a nice window seat, which added to the experience. A worth to try brunch place in Quebec City.
This is a MUST GO place!!! My family & I were vacationing here for over a week & we stumbled upon this restaurant. French Onion Soup is my FAVORITE soup of all time. I had it at every establishment we went to the entire time we were there. This restaurant had THE BEST, HOMEMADE FRENCH ONION SOUP I've ever had in MY LIFE!!!! OMG!!!! THE BEST!!!! Plus the cheese plate was Fantastic, the service was impeccable & flawless & this is an experience you MUST have! The Waugh Burger was delicious, the Rigatoni was divine & the drinks were satisfying!!!!
