We had a phenomenal experience & will go back next time we are in Quebec City. From start to finish, reservation booking process to the bill, this was a flawless & highly caring experience. All staff members shared the care & attention to our experience working effortlessly as a well oiled machine to ensure we had a top notch dining experience!! I highly recommend this restaurant for family dining as my young children (aged 10 & 12) were well looked after & had an incredible experience themselves exploring dishes I never dreamed they would try & ended up loving them. My wife & I said this experience has created culinary monsters & set a high bar for our kids!!

We both ordered the duck, & we were asked how we would like it done, with a little pink or well done. We both indicated that well done was our preference. When the duck came, it was very tough, hard to cut & hard to chew. When we complained we were told that that was usual for well done duck. Why wasn't medium an option? Our server told us that she didn't know, but that she would see in future if that could be an option. Other than that the service was excellent & we would highly recommend the place.
We made a reservation for dinner on our last night in Old Quebec from P.R. Once we arrived, they seated us at a table of our choice (a family of five). To our delight, our waitress, Penelope, provided top-notch service. We ordered the grilled duck breast, wine, digestif, & a kids' menu with dessert. 10/10 for service & food. Highly recommended.

A very unique & antique place located in downtown with a real European town feel. The area is beautiful, clean, & well maintained, with nice options for outdoor seating. The staff was very friendly & welcoming.
The restaurant is usually very busy, & you may have to wait outside. Reservations are highly recommended because they may not allow walk-ins when it's full.
There are limited options for visitors from outside Quebec & not many choices for kids. The food was decent, but I felt the hype was bigger than the actual experience.
Overall, it's a nice place to visit for the atmosphere, location, & historic feeling, but the food experience was just average.

Great selection of classic breakfast/brunch fare in a full on Canadiana decorated space. Every dish was beautifully prepared, with quality ingredients (read thick & crispy bacon, Quebec maple syrup, light crepes, & great coffee) & the service was both friendly & incredibly fast. Reservations are recommended for breakfast/brunch as the space is not huge & the place is very popular. Highly recommended.
First visit to Quebec City. La Buchette has a wonderful ambience & serving staff-warm, friendly & highly knowledgeable. The food is wonderful, refined, but yet homey. I will definitely return & recommend to others.
