La Cuisine is widely celebrated as a cozy, authentic gem in Quebec City, offering a relaxed and quirky atmosphere filled with retro decor and games. Many guests praise the delicious, homemade-style comfort food, with frequent recommendations for the French onion soup, shepherd's pie, and pouding chômeur. While a few visitors noted concerns regarding service speed or food consistency during busy periods, the majority of patrons appreciate the warm, welcoming staff who are often willing to help translate menus. This spot is consistently described as an affordable, local alternative to tourist-heavy areas, making it a highly recommended destination for both locals and travelers seeking a genuine dining experience.

Everything was 10/10. The French onion soup & Sheppard's Pie were the best I've ever had. This is more of a late night eats spot where you can eat, have a few drinks, & listen to some live music. We came on a Friday night & the atmosphere + food were a great introduction to Quebec City. Merci beaucoup!!!

We've tried the onion soup & it was amazing. The cheese inside was high quality & taste was unique. For the portion size it was a bit pricier but still amazing. The waitress there was nice

Recently tried the French Onion Soup at la Cuisine, & it was absolutely delightful! The soup had a rich, flavorful broth with just the right balance of sweetness & savory notes. The melted cheese & crispy bread topping were perfectly done, making each bite indulgent. The presentation was on point, & the service was excellent, making the overall dining experience memorable. Highly recommend trying it if you're a fan of French classics!

The nostalgic atmosphere of this restaurant, their home-style kitchen & the delicious food reminded me of the delicious food my grandmother made when I was a child. We ordered onion soup, lasagna & stuffed cabbage roll. & all of them were delicious. In addition, the salad dressings were also wonderful!

Me & my friend visiting from Australia & we ordered the french onion soup (which was amazing & hearty) & I have the maple syrup ham & cheese pie & he had the shepherd's pie. Amazing traidtional local food & definitely not a tourist trap. Place was filled with locals. Only complaint is that the portions should be bigger cos we loved the food. Amazing restaurant frequented by locals & not a usual overpriced tourist spot that us visitors are accustomed to
