Mon conjoint & moi sommes passés plusieurs fois devant ce petit restaurant qui ne paye pas de mines au premier abord. Puis nous avons décidé d'aller y manger. Nous en ressortons extrêmement satisfait & de par là réception & le service de deux jeunes hommes fortement sympathique.
& c'est sans compter sur les plats extrêmement délicieux confectionner par le cuisinier tout aussi sympathique que les serveurs!
Les prix sont corrects pour les plats que vous recevez!

Si nous revenons un jour à Québec nous y repasserons sans réfléchir !

Bravo pour ce petit restaurant plein de charme, de sympathie & de goût !

Coming from New York & Paris, we're a little spoilt when it comes to excellent dining experiences. So, at first we were hesitant to book L'Affaire est Ketchup as there were so many highly reviewed restaurants to choose from in Quebec. So glad we went for it!! We tried a lot of them & this was by far the best meal we had in Quebec!
The ingredients, preparation & presentation were outstanding! & it didn't cost a ridiculous arm n a leg. The restaurant & the chefs are completely unpretentious. But, don't be put off by that…every dish was outstanding. Don't expect a white linen experience. It is very bohemian & relaxed; like eating in someone's kitchen. Such a relief to avoid all the BS that seems to come with'fine dining'. This is all about the food. The menu changes daily & there are only two seatings per day. So, so glad we went with our gut & booked this experience. Thank you!

Thank you Jonathan for the recommendations, taking all our questions & making us feel at home.

Mind blown at the food honestly.

My wife broke a wine glass & I still had an unflinching look of happiness & tranquility on my face - sorry about that guys!

Everything we had was amazing but don't you dare miss out on those sweetbreads.

I hope I never forget how tasty this food was. Cannot recommend enough.

This was such an incredible dinning experience. All tables are sat & served at the same time, with the chefs announcing the menu items to the whole group. We sat at the bar & could watch as the meals were prepared & enjoy drinks with the staff. & our food was out of this world delicious! Highly recommend this place!

Since this is a somewhat unusual restaurant I'll describe it a bit in my review. My understanding is that food is served twice an evening at fixed times & you make a reservation for one of those particular times. The restaurant is very small.

The name of the restaurant comes from regional Quebec slang. The food includes sweetbreads, foie gras, & other fairly classical dishes. Everything we tried was delicious.

The atmosphere is extremely relaxed & friendly.

I tried to order wine by the glass, & they didn't seem to have a wine list, although perhaps they may for customers who order by the bottle. They had some extremely good local microbrewery beer.

This was a very unique & memorable meal. We were a little concerned when we showed up a little before 8:30 & the door was locked. We had not paid attention to the fact that they do 2 separate seatings per evening & that the door opens at the set time….
That being said the food was amazing, the wine recommendations were on point & the service was fun & personable.
We will absolutely be back on our next visit to Quebec City.
