Likely the only restaurant in old Quebec that deserves such a high review

Le Bedeau delivers exceptional hospitality from the very first moment. Our experience began when we asked for a wine recommendation. The server thoughtfully brought out two bottles, & after we leaned toward one over the other, she went above & beyond by asking which we genuinely preferred between the two. When we expressed slight hesitation, she didn't just shrug it off the way many servers do, she actually opened a third bottle for us to try! Even though that third option still wasn't quite our style, her warmth, constant smiling, approachable demeanor, & helpful menu recommendations completely won us over. We hadn't even tasted our food yet, but the level of care & attentiveness we received made the experience already feel extraordinary.

We ordered three items: the burrata, the halibut, & the focaccia bread, & the food was simply amazing. The halibut was served on a nice bed of brown butter & foam, & the sauce was incredible & kept the fish perfectly moist. The burrata was very interesting & unique, not your standard version with arugula, but featuring a really delicious sauce with different types of cabbage. & the focaccia bread was beautiful as well, especially paired with the herb butter.

An unforgettable dining experience from start to finish!

The food & cocktails were excellent, the service not so much. There was one server for the entire dining room who prioritized seemly everyone else. We were simply ignored for a long period, receiving the last of our three plates at the two-hour mark.

Excellent restaurant avec une chaleureuse ambiance & un excellent service. Le service était impeccable & à la fois très amusant. Nous avons été accueillis avec une dégustation de vin & de belles discussions. En ce qui concerne la nourriture, tout était parfait. Je vous conseille pleinement le menu découverte.

J'ai été dans le milieu de la restauration pendant 8 ans. Je suis donc extrêmement rigoureux sur le service, l'expérience client & les produits proposés.

Ma copine & moi-mêmes sommes allés deux fois au Bedeau dans les deux dernières semaines & c'est un sans faute. Autant le personnel de service, que l'expérience client en passant par la nourriture & les vins proposés.

Une perle du Vieux-Québec, & clairement l'une des nouvelles adresses fétiches pour ma femme & moi.

I realize I'm prone to only leave positive reviews & here I go again. We stopped into this sophisticated - but not snotty - gem (neo-modern may apply) & enjoyed a drinks - old fashioned & a'Dill's Knees' created & crafted by Kiki- sublime, refreshing gin cocktail along with their Oysters, Rondelait sweet clover & scallion appetizer… Yum & Ooohh. Delightful experience in a town where others turned us away for lack of reservation (shame on us. It is Saturday evening)
Highly recommend stopping in; worth the prices IMHO but my husband is paying this one…so… 🤷?♀?

Samedi dernier nous avons eu la chance de découvrir ce restaurant incroyable. Nous avons choisi le menu découverte & chaque plat était surprenant, audacieux & délicieux. La présentation des plats était aussi appréciée! Je n'oublierai jamais cette expérience qui a vraiment mise la barre haute pour les prochains endroits que je visiterai

Je dois mentionner un coup de coeur qui a rendu notre soirée encore plus spéciale: notre serveuse Naïka, qui est, non seulement extrêmement professionnelle, mais aussi elle avait le don de prévenir & répondre à chaque petits besoins. Elle est attentionnée, intuitive, drôle en plus d'être capable de comprendre le mood de ses tables! Elle est allée vraiment over & beyond pour nous faire passer un bon moment & son énergie positive est tellement contagieuse que nous avons déjà hâte à notre prochaine visite.

Je vous encourage fortement à essayer cette établissement, vous ne serez pas déçu!

The food, the wine & the service (Manon) were amazing. We have been here before but we felt like friends coming back thanks to the staff. The wine selection was superb & the food was rich & delightful. Will 100000% be coming back!!

We live in NYC & when we visit QC we intentionally visit this restaurant because it's that good! At our last visit, the hosts were warm & welcoming & we were quickly seated & introduced to Manon, who took care of us for the evening. We can't say enough about what an amazing time we had. Manon was attentive & kind & absolutely made our night the memorable experience it was. The food was delicious, the drinks fantastic & the service 5-stars. We will absolutely be back!
