About

Le Cochon Dingue functions as a quintessential Quebecois institution, celebrated for its robust menu featuring signature slow-cooked pork ribs and classic French-inspired bistro fare. The kitchen maintains a strong focus on high-quality ingredients, notably seen in its famous maple-glazed ribs and traditional poutine variations that satisfy heartier cravings. Diners encounter a bustling, rustic interior characterized by wooden accents and a lively, social atmosphere that defines the brand identity. The menu selection encompasses a range of traditional dishes including onion soup, steak frites, and an extensive assortment of house-made desserts. This establishment delivers consistent culinary results across its multiple locations, grounding its reputation in authentic flavors rather than modern culinary experimentation. Every plate emphasizes generous portions and traditional techniques, cementing its status as a reliable destination for those seeking substantial, comfort-oriented meals within a relaxed and unpretentious environment.

Le Cochon Dingue is widely praised by visitors for its delicious food, particularly the pork dishes, ribs, and breakfast options like eggs benedict and crepes. Many diners appreciate the efficient, friendly service and the lively, cozy atmosphere that makes it a popular stop in Quebec City. While the vast majority of experiences are positive and highlight the restaurant as a staple for both tourists and locals, a small number of guests have encountered issues with inconsistent food temperatures, occasional service lapses during busy periods, or specific experiences with staff interactions. Absolutely loved this restaurant for breakfast. Great atmosphere, incredible food, & right near all the great spots in the Old City. Very fairly priced! I had never been to Quebec or Canada at all until this visit & we INDULGED in our breakfast at this establishment. Very pleased!

Tudo excelente: atendimento, ambiente, comida e bebida. O preço é bom se comparado a outros restaurantes. Pedi o bavette de veau de lait - carne suculenta, ao ponto e com molho rôti ótimo. Acompanhado de batata e legumes. De drink, pedi o Daiquiri framboise que estava uma delícia. Recomendo.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food in this long-established restaurant in the heart of Petit Champlain, Old Quebec.

The dishes were flavorful, generous in portion, & clearly prepared with care & tradition. The atmosphere is warm & inviting, with a charming old-world feel that fits perfectly with the historic surroundings. Service was attentive & friendly, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. Good selections of local brews & wines too.

I highly recommend the maple grilled pork chop & their famous pot-en-pot-true comfort food that will warm your soul. A gem worth visiting when in Old Quebec.

En visite touristique je me suis renseigné avant de rentrer dans ce restaurant qui a de très bonnes critiques.
Emplacement stratégique pour se ressourcer, personnel très agréable & accueillant, & ma salade était vraiment délicieuse.

Visit, Wednesday September 3, 2025, party of six for dinner. Mobility impaired accessible, seasonal patio, no on street parking during summer season. Modern chique interior, lovely sidewalk patio. Soups, Ceasars salad, & steak were excellent. Good menu & beverage selection. Staff were good & items priced moderate.
