Review Summary

Légende offers an immersive fine dining experience centered on innovative boreal cuisine, where locally sourced ingredients are transformed into creative and beautifully presented tasting menus. Guests frequently praise the professional, attentive, and passionate service, noting that the staff often goes above and beyond to make celebrations feel special. The atmosphere is consistently described as cozy, elegant, and welcoming, making it a standout destination in Quebec City for those seeking a memorable culinary journey. While the majority of visitors leave feeling delighted by the complex flavors and thoughtfully curated wine and non-alcoholic pairings, a few have noted that the portion sizes or pacing can sometimes feel unconventional for a long-form tasting experience.

We had such a great experience here. We were very self conscious about not speaking French but all the staff were friendly & accommodating. We sat at the bar & the bartender Max was so fun & knowledgeable about all the drinks & dishes. He went out of his way to make us feel comfortable & enjoy our experience. The food was delicious & I thought the prices were reasonable for the courses & wine pairing. We really enjoyed it here & would definitely come back if we're in the area again.

Food ingredients are local but, all the dishes are internatinally inspired. Presentation is beautiful. Reminded me of artistic Japanese Kaiseki presentation. Must go for prestige wine pairing if possible. I enjoyed every dish & worth the price.

We have experienced many dinners matched to wine. This may have been the best. A surprise at each course!!!

We went here & got the tasting menu. It was very good. We shared 1 wine pairing & 1 non alcoholic pairing & it was perfect. The non alcoholic cocktails were very impressive from start to finish & I think more restaurants should adopt this.

I posted this on Google as well:

If you have no dietary restrictions, personal preferences, or timetables, then this restaurant (& its unknowable tasting menu) are probably a great bet for you. If you don't fit into this mold, you may be as miserable as we were. I will say that the food (when it eventually came out an hour & a half later) was very good, & the supporting staff was very nice, but that's where the positive notes end. The a la carte menu only has "medium-sized" options that are neither appetizers nor entrees, they refused to accommodate our dietary restrictions (which would have only entailed cooking the food in something simple like olive oil, rather than adding their sauces), & if you ask for bread to hold you over until your food comes, you'll be told repeatedly that it's coming with the meal. All in all, it took us 2.5 hours to get a dozen oysters, one "entree" each, & a grossly under-poured glass of wine. By that time, we were all starving & aggravated, & the staff seemed utterly unperturbed by our obvious frustration. Save your money & go to L'Echaude or L'Orygine, which are also fine dining restaurants that actually care about their patrons' experience.

An absolute incredible meal & dining experience! Without a doubt, one of the top 5 meals I've ever had. Every course was beautiful, thoughtfully created, & an amazing trip for my taste buds. The descriptions of our meals were mind blowing, the service was impeccable, the wine delicious. Clearly the chefs are food architects & have the most creative minds. Well done all around. Do not miss out on this incredible food experience.

Honestly, one of the world's great restaurants. The food is extraordinary, using local ingredients to astonish in the complexity of flavors. Each bite is an incredible & delicious adventure. The service is unmatched in its friendly attentiveness. The pacing was perfect & the experience as comfortable as home. The sommeliers really know their stuff -- we stuck to only Canadian wines, & we had a terrific range of reds & whites that could compete with the best from any of the world's more famous wine regions. I have dined at many of the best -- Noma, Alinea, Eleven Madison Park, French Laundry, Sonnora -- & Legende more than holds its own in the quality of food & service, & it's more relaxing & approachable than any of them. I cannot sing enough praise about this restaurant.
