One of the best meals I have ever had. Service is amazing. Drinks are complex & curated. Food was an exploration of culinary techniques. Cannot recommend enough. We were lucky enough to get the composed menu & glad we did. All the dishes worked together to create a culinary journey. Loved the small group bar seating as we got to talk to people we didn't know & make new friends
Nous avons vraiment apprécié notre soirée, le service était impeccable. La Lueur se démarque dans le concept de manger au bar en petite comité. Dans ce restaurant, nous avons adoré partager notre repas avec le barman qui nous faisait également le service. Merci c'etait super!
If I could give Lueur 10 stars I would. It was our first trip to QC & coming around the holidays, a lot of places I had wanted to try were booked. Saw Lueur on my second round of internet investigation, & so glad all my first picks were booked because Lueur was our favorite dining experience! We loved the service concept - only 2 seatings per nite. Bar service thats small, intimate, yet casual. The entire service is executed by 3 folks who rotate cooking, service, & bartending each night. The egalitarian, in-it -together feel translated to each bite. The host on our end of the bar, Terry, was so great making us feel welcome, explaining each dish, & approaching all he did with passion. We had the special pre fixe holiday menu vs their usual a la carte & each dish was better than the last. My husband & I were so impressed. Showcasing French technique with local ingredients, but nothing overdone. To say I love food is an understatement. Food is what I live for, but I am often disappointed by places that are highly acclaimed but feel too stuffy or like it's more about the gimmick & flash than good, simple, local good executed with soul. Lueur had soul in spades.

Lueur truly delivers a memorable dining experience. The cozy bar-style seating might not be the most comfortable, but it creates an intimate atmosphere between guests & the chefs. The food is excellent: the mix of flavors & the freshness of the ingredients fully justify the price.
The menu is quite limited, but the options are well chosen & will certainly satisfy different tastes. Dishes are served in a tapas format, perfect for sharing. However, this is not the ideal spot for large groups: seating is at the counter, which makes group conversations unpractical.
The biggest downside, in my opinion, is that the small space & poorly isolated kitchen leave you smelling like the food when you leave. So, if you have plans afterward, you might want to think twice before choosing Lueur.
Despite that, we had a great time, & will surely keep the restaurant in our list for date nights!
We tried to get into Laurie Raphaël, which was booked weeks in advance, so we opted for Lueur instead-& we're so glad we did! It's a fantastic local spot with a creative vibe, & sitting at the bar is a highlight-you can even watch the chef prepare dishes if you grab a seat on the far left.
We started with the Martiti (a clever spin on the martini with a cornichon) & Le Winnie-both excellent. The bean salad with creamy tarragon vinaigrette & roasted almonds was outstanding, as were the scallops with shallots & king salmon. Highly recommend!
Lueur did that in spades. We had no idea of what to expect when we arrived. We just knew that it was going to be interesting after finding it in the Michelin guide.
The ambiance is similar to a cozy cocktail bar - small & intimate. A 3 person kitchen & bar staff run the whole show. Pierre the front man & mixologist displays his amazing creativity based on his global travels. We started with the'Summer surprise', which comprised a beach pail full of sangria along with a shovel & 2 straws, a sand toy dump truck full of potato chips, prosciutto, & lightly grated cheese, along with delicious New Brunswick oysters served in a big bright plastic patter. This fun opener set the stage for the rest of the evening. What followed was unpretentious & delicious. Our favourites included the scallops & green beans. If the corn bread is available have that last since it is almost like a dessert - layer sweetness with the consistency of a marshmallow.
We fortunate to eat at a lot of great restaurants. Lueur serves exquisite food that is fun & inviting. Highly recommend.
Quelle belle soirée au Lueur! C'est dans une ambiance très conviviale qu'on nous sert ces beaux plats & qu'on nous fait vivre une belle expérience de À à Z. Mention spéciale à Thierry! Le fait que les places soient autour du comptoir bar & qu'il n'y ait que 15 places rend le tout encore plus charmant. Le rapport qualité-prix était excellent, ils méritent leur Bibs Gourmand du Michelin! Je recommande vivement ce restaurant!
Un service d'exception donné par des cuisiniers & barman passionné. Michelle Nico & Thierry offres une expérience unique dans une ambiance décontractée avec un menu constamment en évolution. Assaisonnement & acidité toujours parfaitement maîtrisé, présentation efficace & concise. Le lueur est une adresse gastronomique incontournable dans la ville de Québec & vaux sérieusement le détour!
We ate here July 4th & it was PHENOMENAL! Every dish was wonderful (I especially loved the beef tartare, my husband loved the ricotta dish) & the bartenders/servers were wonderful, friendly, & never let your glass go empty. This place lives up to the hype!
Un des meilleurs resto à Québec à découvrir Super endroit qui ce démarque avec un comptoir bar une belle ambiance & surtout la bouffe est parfaite des excellentes chefs & le menu change régulièrement après 4 fois c'est ma découverte de l'année que j'ai adoptée !!!
