The Maison Livernois has a terrace of about fifty places, in addition to some 90 places inside. On the menu are pub classics, such as burgers, but also eight dishes inspired by the flavors of the world. The name La Maison Livernois is inspired by a family that has already been very involved in Quebec City. She founded the first photography studio in 1854 in the building that now houses the St. Patrick's Pub. Each gin and vodka brewed by Top Resto Group will bear the name of one of the members of this family. The first being the Jules-Ernest gin. Three recipes are already developed. In addition to food, La Maison Livernois is a tasting place. There are many kinds of Quebec gins and a laboratory to educate people.

We stopped by this place for a quick little drink & a few bites. We were not disappointment. Their poutine was absolutely fantastic. We also had a pizza which was good. We loved the gin they provided us. A great place to do a gin tasting.
A great find for drinks & the chance to try several local gins. They have an impressive-possibly the largest-gin selection, & the bartenders & team were incredibly knowledgeable & friendly. I love that it's also a distillery, which makes the experience even more unique.

Comment dire....En arrivant dans le resto,aucun accueil,les serveurs passent devant nous en nous évitant du regard...On prend place & le serveur qui nous est assigné est mêlé comme un jeu de carte,nous redemande nos choix plusieurs fois. Les cocktails étaient très bons,& les entrées aussi(dumplings de wagyu & carpaccio de boeuf )c'est ce qui sauve la mise un peu. Nous avons pris une entrecôte & une bavette,qui aurait dû être medium/saignant comme demandé.c'est arrivé beaucoup trop cuit. On ne nous a pas demandé nos choix d'accompagnements,il a fallu le demander au serveur nous même après qu'il soit parti en prenant juste la cuisson de nos steaks.Le serveur a renversé mon drink sur mon conjoint. Jamais eu de refill d'eau & le serveur etait pratiquement absent. Nous avons attendu la facture très longtemps,pendant que tous les serveurs jasaient au bar...Sérieusement,au prix que ça coûte pour aller dans ce resto,je ne suis pas impressionnée du tout,ça ne me donne pas envie d'y retourner. J'ai vu des critiques sur ce resto qui se plaignaient des mêmes choses que moi...il semblerait que le message me passe pas.Cessez de vous excusez & prenez en compte les commentaires des clients POUR VRAI. Vraiment déçue de mon expérience.
An amazing patio atmosphere in gorgeous'old Quebec City' in Autumn. Great drinks…good food…but amazing service….Alex provided outstanding service. He really'gets' his industry!
Really good food, but it took around fifteen minutes just to be seen by a waiter. & then another 15 to get our free water. Then half an hour to get our drinks. You can guess how long it took to get our food, which's size was not appropriate for its price (aka VERY SMALL & NOT FILLING). While we waited at least 5families left the restaurant without even getting their water or drinks.
The deliciousness was not able to make up for the lack of attention, the wasted time & the children menu sized food.
My first time here a few years ago was a great experience all around & I expected a similar experience this time around.
It started off great with a pleasant greeting by the hostess & was seated promptly at a nice table. It took a bit of time for my server to come by, & when they did, assumed I did not speak French & when I replied in French, he called out my accent & proceeded to continue in English.
He took my order & the entree seemed to have been served within minutes. My drinks were not served at this point & the server blamed someone else who was supposed to bring the beer to the table. So much for chilling before eating. So now I have a beer & a glass of wine on the table.
I had the steak frites. The cook on the steak was just a tad undercooked to the medium rare I requested but was passable so I didn't send back. The fries were on the soggy side, not terrible but not great either. I had to ask for pepper & all I got was a pepper shaker, no fresh ground.
The server was inattentive, not once did he check in to ask how the food was. Maybe my permanent scowl from the drink issue scared him away. He did comp the glass of wine which I appreciated but was too little of a gesture to make up for the overall experience. I had planned on having dessert but decided I couldn't spend anymore time or money for bad service & mediocre food.
I know Maison Livernois can do better as I experienced it. I probably won't be back. It's a shame because they have a fantastic list of Quebec gins.
We had a great night, Sam was great, so hospitable & his cocktails were delicious, so we came back the next day for more drinks & to try the food. The food was just as good as the cocktails!
Amazon gin drinks, delicious duck pizza, & excellent service. The restaurant/bar is located in an old building with brick walls, cozy & warm atmosphere. Highly recommend it!
My friends & I got here after long day of traveling & had a FANTASTIC experience. The in-house DJ really set the mood in a wonderful way, the food was amazing (I highly recommend the poutine au canard), & our drinks were delicious & presented with a lot of style. I had the Sous Bois, which lived up to its smoky, woodsy description. All around, a magical first dinner during me & my friends' trip to Quebec. Thank you!
