About

The Maison Livernois has a terrace of about fifty places, in addition to some 90 places inside. On the menu are pub classics, such as burgers, but also eight dishes inspired by the flavors of the world. The name La Maison Livernois is inspired by a family that has already been very involved in Quebec City. She founded the first photography studio in 1854 in the building that now houses the St. Patrick's Pub. Each gin and vodka brewed by Top Resto Group will bear the name of one of the members of this family. The first being the Jules-Ernest gin. Three recipes are already developed. In addition to food, La Maison Livernois is a tasting place. There are many kinds of Quebec gins and a laboratory to educate people.

Review Summary

Maison Livernois offers a highly regarded dining experience in the heart of Old Quebec, frequently praised for its inviting atmosphere, beautiful historic decor, and comfortable seating. Many guests highlight the exceptional quality of the food, particularly the steak frites, poutine, duck confit, and the creative selection of house-made gins. The service is often described as professional, attentive, and friendly, with many visitors noting that the staff goes above and beyond to provide tailored recommendations and accommodate special requests. While the experience is generally positive, some guests have noted occasional inconsistencies in service speed or portion sizes, but overall, it remains a popular destination for those seeking a memorable meal in a charming setting.

Great food. Nice bartender. Arrived without a reservation & was sat at the bar. No big deal, but the tables never filled up. The duck poutine was fantastic. The fried fondue was delicious. The escargot was rich & sumptuous. Great drink selection. Would recommend to anyone.

I gotta start off with the duck confit poutine. It's too die for, the duck is tender & delicate. Fresh cheese curds & the gravy oh my you could dunk crayons in it & be like wow that are tasty. If you like gin your gonna adore this place. They have like easily a hundred choices.

My solo experience at Maison Livernois was moderately enjoyable overall. The historic building the restaurant is set in is an atmosphere of it's own, giving the place an air of foundational class. I ordered the duck confit leg, which was on the petite side. They were generous with the side veges, but surprisingly stingy with the small potatoes. Service was polite but very slow. Took a long time to place my order & even longer to pay my bill, they could improve on that.

Just a little disappointed in the food. The charred octopus was dry & cold. Frites soggy. Vegan salad was pedestrian (& the additional mozzarrela nowhere to be seen). Duck wings very dry.
Brie was beautifully cooked but a little too much maple syrup for our taste. D'escargot bundle was brilliant!

The food was amazing, the beef carpaccio with anchovies & capers was delicious & the duck confit with mushrooms on pasta was exactly what I was looking for. It surpassed what I was looking for! The lighting was awkward though. Where I was sitting , the shadow of my head covered my plate, so I had to lean to the side each time I took a bite to see what I was cutting or gathering on my fork. & although I liked the beat of the music, it was too loud to have a conversation. But the meal was worth the minor inconveniences!

Incredible food. A little pricy for my own taste but you get what you pay for, at least for the meals we ordered. The duck burger & everything that came with it was of great quality & the portion size was a full plate!

Wonderful last evening at Maison Livernois in a cozy window spot before departing Quebec. Nice smooth Reisling wine & tasty grilled octopus appetizer even if a lil small. All rib & seafood entrees were enjoyed even if 2nd choice due to absence of duck confit from menu. Friendly staff to us tourists 😊 Merci. Would try again

The finest, most diverse & intriguing gin selection I've seen in Canada, plus a knowledgeable & enthusiastic bar staff who will steer you to new discoveries that suit your tastes. Seriously elevated pub food as well - try the duck burger en brioche. Delightful evening out.

Fine restaurant in many respects. Service was professional, food was pretty good. Highlight was the gelato. We found the duck confit a bit too salty for our taste.
