My first time here a few years ago was a great experience all around & I expected a similar experience this time around.

It started off great with a pleasant greeting by the hostess & was seated promptly at a nice table. It took a bit of time for my server to come by, & when they did, assumed I did not speak French & when I replied in French, he called out my accent & proceeded to continue in English.

He took my order & the entree seemed to have been served within minutes. My drinks were not served at this point & the server blamed someone else who was supposed to bring the beer to the table. So much for chilling before eating. So now I have a beer & a glass of wine on the table.

I had the steak frites. The cook on the steak was just a tad undercooked to the medium rare I requested but was passable so I didn't send back. The fries were on the soggy side, not terrible but not great either. I had to ask for pepper & all I got was a pepper shaker, no fresh ground.

The server was inattentive, not once did he check in to ask how the food was. Maybe my permanent scowl from the drink issue scared him away. He did comp the glass of wine which I appreciated but was too little of a gesture to make up for the overall experience. I had planned on having dessert but decided I couldn't spend anymore time or money for bad service & mediocre food.

I know Maison Livernois can do better as I experienced it. I probably won't be back. It's a shame because they have a fantastic list of Quebec gins.

In the heart of old Quebec City the last stop of our food tour took us to Maison Livernois. What a great experience. We enjoyed poutine in their barrel room & & some great gin. We liked it so much that we stuck around for some more cocktails.

Excellent food, lovely service, & a vast selection of gins. I'd stop by again on my next visit to the city.

Pas notre premiere fois mais cette fois-ci a été décevante.

Qu'il manque les 2 premiers choix de bières & le 1er choix de cocktail peut passer.
Erreur de la part de la nouvelle serveuse, le mauvais repas est envoyé, peut arriver. Par contre, se faire répondre que le seul dédommagement possible est un rabais de 15% sur le repas en question, qui lui est 48$ au lolieu de 32 puisque'le gerant n'est pas là ce soir' est inacceptable.
En plus cette assiette est servie avec des frites congelées, mouillees par la sauce.
Très décevant pour la Maison Livernois.

L'amatrice de gins & cocktails ira essayer un autre endroit lors de sa prochaine visite à Québec.

Massive selection of gin, mostly local but also from everywhere! Staff very friendly & good food!
Olivier est trop génial au bar, ses idées de cocktails & suggestions sont insane!!

Première expérience & vraiment nous recommandons. Les plats sont bien présentés & délicieux, le service est incroyable & un p'tit plus est ajouté par la personne qui nous apporte les plats. La sélection des gin est juste incroyable & le goût des cocktail est WOW. L'exécution est parfaite, de la glace à la touche finale. Bref, nous allons revenir :-)

Amazon gin drinks, delicious duck pizza, & excellent service. The restaurant/bar is located in an old building with brick walls, cozy & warm atmosphere. Highly recommend it!

Superbe ambiance, les cocktails & le choix de gins sont incroyables. Personnel sympathique & à l'écoute. Malheureusement, la qualité & le rendu des plats n'est pas au rendez-vous, ce qui nuit à l'expérience. Travaillez ce volet & on revient avec plaisir !

Great vibes, good DJ at the time that mixed chill tunes. Huge gin selection. A classic experience for winding down later in the night.
