We were not too impressed with the meals though as the French onion soup lacked broth & was just 50% cheese. Personally I prefer a bit more broth to make it feel like an actual soup rather than just a block of cheese. Salads were solid though & pickles also pretty good. Croque Monsieur sandwich was not very interesting & just ok.
Beautiful pub with historic charm. We were warmly greeted (English speaking) & enjoyed a pint with a shot of maple whiskey & truly delicious French onion soup & Brie w salad. The menu is bar limited - definitely a great stop in Quebec City
Such a cool pub! Great service, beer & delicious French onion soup!
What an amazing pub! The European Hot Dog & French onion soup were delicious! Our server Louis-Philippe gave us the best service! A must stop for lunch when in Old Quebec City.
You can eat indoors or out, the croque monsiuer was fabulous. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the French onion soup also. Great selection of beers
Cosy pub with a fireplace, which was great as it was very cold outside. We had a late lunch of french onion soup & a smoked meat sandwich, which were quite nice. The person who served us was friendly & helped with menu choices.
This place will be hard to top! I had looked it up ahead time & we were so excited to go. The atmosphere was unreal! The coolest historic building I've ever been to. Was so cool to be in a cellar from the 1600's! It's a small place, smaller than the photos make it look, but the bartenders were amazing, so friendly & welcoming! They loved feeding us the maple whisky shots with every beer that was ordered, for only $3, & the long island iced tea was delicious! We had the French onion soup & it was delicious! That's all we are there. I think if you're looking for food specifically, maybe this isn't the place as the menu is limited, but if you're looking for a fun atmosphere, cozy with a fire, friendly people, this is the place! We went back both nights we were there & the bartender remembered us. No bar topped this for the rest of the time we were there!
The French onion soup was soooo good!! Wasn't a fan of the chicken wings though. Very nice hidden place Great atmosphere.
A lovely warm fire greeted us after a cold walk in the slushy snow, then delicious French onion soup to warm up. A wonderful experience. Great advice on the IPA beer.
Quiet & cozy. Had mulled wine & crab cakes. Both were delicious. Wanted French Onion soup, but it was not available. Wish I had more time in Quebec City; I would visit the pub again.
