We visited with a group of 11 to celebrate a special 80th birthday as well as other joint 50th birthdays. The whole experience was incredible with an amazing location & the staff & waiters were very friendly, charming & welcoming.
We mostly ordered the 4 course taster menu with some ordering individual dishes.
The food was incredible as you would expect from this level of restaurant. The wine pairing was also perfect with great wines from unexpected countries like Greece & Croatia.
The reason for my rating of 3 for the service is due to a few mistakes in our order. We were offered great flexibility with the choices of the taster menu, which was great as some of our group were not keen on some of the standard dishes like the Veal Tartare. When the first course arrived, three of the dishes that should have been the alternative to the Veal were served the Veal, which meant they had to be replaced straight away.
One of our group was also served the dishes from the 6 course vegetarian taster menu, when the order was also the 4 course.
The overall timing of the service was also extremely slow. Altogether, the service took 3 & a half hours, with breaks of around 30-40 minutes between each course, which is extremely long for taster dishes that are relatively small.
I only later found out that this is a Michelin star restaurant, which is mainly the reason for my review, as I would not expect various mistakes in the order & the long waiting from a Michelin star restaurant.

Champlain is a true fine dining experience. We originally were on the inside, but wanted a window seat. In order to get one, you have to get the tasting menu, which we did. All the courses on the tasting menu were excellent. The standout for me was the beef with morel mushrooms. I chose the wine pairings & they were perfect. The aperitifs were very creative & opened up a new area of taste for me. The service was professional & impeccable. Combined with the ambience & the view from our table, I found Champlain ro be a most enjoyable experience.

We visited to celebrate a graduation & Father's Day, & the team went above & beyond by surprising us with a beautiful celebratory dessert. It was such a thoughtful touch that made our family milestone truly special.
As someone with a shrimp allergy, I was incredibly impressed by how safely & seamlessly they modified the halibut course for me. The service was absolute top-tier, & the wine pairing was perfection, complementing every dish beautifully. Thank you for a wonderful & memorable evening. We will definitely be back!

Lovely staff, pleasant atmosphere. Not worth the price. Let's start with drinks, the non-alcoholic pairing is unique in flavoring & the same price as the alcoholic pairing. The first course of lobster is simply okay, the second course of halibut - I had two large bones & two small bones in my last bite which left an unpleasant experience to the course, the third course of meat was good however why would you serve a jus that is red & looks like blood all over the plate? For the final course of desserts it was simply okay however the tart was so frrozen I almost broke the plate cutting it with the fork, the sorbet was excellent. The amuse-bouche & post dessert could have been skipped & you would not have missed anything. Overall for one person it was not worth the $300 price tag. However I do want to reiterate the staff was fantastic, the fault does not lay with them, it was the chef.

Basic Discovery Menu $135 + wine pairing $105
Full Discovery Menu $189 + wine pairing $159
Basic vegetarian Discovery Menu $135 + wine pairing $105

Service was excellent as expected, we were sat right in front of the fireplace for dinner. The alternate seating choice would be in by the windows overlooking the Champlain statue & the Funicular on the Dufferin Terrace.

There is a non-alcoholic pairing & although it's not as curated as the alcoholic option, I did discover some Japan-imported sparkling teas that I really enjoy.

The whole package. Dining at le Champlain had the 3 things I look for overall in a top notch restaurant; great food & great service all wrapped in an incredible & unique experience. This was not my first time dining in a castle & when compared with my time at the restaurant in Carcassonne many years ago, it has some catching up. However, in terms of my various dining experiences in other locations, it was fantastic. We had the 4 course wine pairing & it was definitely enough to make us full. From the flavour to the plating, all top notch. Our servers were friendly & attentive. The overall experience went above & beyond by offering several items not described on the menu. Ones such as a box of chocolates in which you get to keep the nice jewelry box. Finally, you're experiencing all this in a historic castle in a historic centre, surrounded by a mix of new & old world luxury.

Our server was amazing... cant remember his name only that there was "jr" at the end. Really sorry!! Super insightful with everything presented. We took Discovery tasting w/ wine pairing. Even though we had a strict time-line before our show, he paid attention to our needs quite well even with a full section. Food was over the top culinary experience, & the wines were paired perfectly. Great job chefs. Merci full!

Fantastic dinner with a very knowledgeable & friendly server (Manuel)! Our group was able to enjoy this lovely dinner in the Champlain room, where the Québec accord was signed. The food was very delicious, & the wine pairing were wonderful too. The dessert was intricate with many textures & great tastes. Lastly, the earl grey was very aromatic!

Great environment for a dinner. We had a seat overlooking the st Lawrence river. Our waiter was very friendly & informative. The set menu contained dishes we would have never ordered but enjoyed. The wine pairing is a must. 4/5 wines that I had were fantastic. This is an expensive dinner. We spent $700 as a couple. Not something we could do on a regular basis but the experience was worth every penny.
