About

Having traveled part of the globe to demonstrate the richness of our culture and our traditions, the idea of creating Sagamité was born from the desire to make known our beautiful culture at home in Wendake.

The Sagamité Restaurant in Wendake was founded in 1999 and since then, we have been welcoming local, regional and worldwide customers curious to discover our culture through a gastronomic experience. The name of the restaurant testifies to this by its name; for the Wendat, Sagamité was at the heart of our diet. It is a soup-meal enriched with game where we find the famous “Three Sisters”: squash, corn and red beans, that we cultivate.

Since July 2019, the Sagamité Vieux-Québec restaurant has been introducing First Nations gastronomy to visitors to the historic district of Québec.

The Sagamité restaurant has traced the path of Aboriginal gastronomy, which we have demystified over time thanks to game. It is an establishment of choice for a clientele curious to live a gourmet and cultural experience at the same time.

Vraiment une belle découverte. Nous avons commandé les médaillons de cerfs & wapiti ainsi qu'une tarte à l'érable. C'était tout simplement délicieux. Bravo à toute l'équipe

WOW,completely blown away by the food, service & atmosphere of this restaurant! Simply amazing. It's an absolute must when visiting Quebec City. We had Bison, Venison, & Elk, duck confit salad & Maple pie! It's a bit pricy though!

This place is phenomenal. The venison puff pastry, wild turkey confit parmentier, & venison & elk ravioli with bison ragu were mind blowing. One of the best restaurants I've ever been to by far!

Went here 3x for breakfast due to a hotel coupon. My strong plea to the business owner is to hire/schedule more staff!

The servers are doing the best they can but one server for a full restaurant is impossible. First day, we waited 20mins in line just to be seated despite there being plenty of open tables because the single server couldn't clean/bus those empty tables & seat customers while also taking orders & running food. Including that, our breakfast took 1.5hrs in total. We joked about needing breakfast before going to breakfast, it took so long. Second day was better, only a small wait & fewer customers, but the yogurt with meusli is actually vanilla yogurt with corn flakes.

The third day (today), my omelette was burnt black. After waiting so long to be seated & for coffee & for food, I didn't bother sending it back & instead just ate the potatoes & toast that came with it. I have a hard time wondering what went through the cook's mind sending out eggs that were literally blackened, let alone the mouldy grapes on my husband's plate.

None of this is the fault of the serving staff who are obviously trying their best (tip your waiter even with a breakfast coupon!). Please, restaurant owner, your breakfast rush is too busy for one person in the kitchen & one person in front of house. Do better.
