About

Having traveled part of the globe to demonstrate the richness of our culture and our traditions, the idea of creating Sagamité was born from the desire to make known our beautiful culture at home in Wendake.

The Sagamité Restaurant in Wendake was founded in 1999 and since then, we have been welcoming local, regional and worldwide customers curious to discover our culture through a gastronomic experience. The name of the restaurant testifies to this by its name; for the Wendat, Sagamité was at the heart of our diet. It is a soup-meal enriched with game where we find the famous “Three Sisters”: squash, corn and red beans, that we cultivate.

Since July 2019, the Sagamité Vieux-Québec restaurant has been introducing First Nations gastronomy to visitors to the historic district of Québec.

The Sagamité restaurant has traced the path of Aboriginal gastronomy, which we have demystified over time thanks to game. It is an establishment of choice for a clientele curious to live a gourmet and cultural experience at the same time.

We had the Three Antlers main for two people, which included deer, elk & bison accompanied by very nicely presented veg. Meat was super tender. Good wine recommendation too.

You can try Canadian traditional foods that are steak of the deer, elk & bison. These are not bad, but it might devide opinion.

We recently dined at the Sagamite restaurant that left a lasting impression with its exceptional variety of meats. From succulent bison to tender deer, the diverse selection was a carnivore's delight. The chef's artful presentation elevated the experience, making each dish not only a treat for the taste buds but also a feast for the eyes. The melding of unique flavors & impeccable service made it a memorable culinary adventure. Definitely must try!

That’s start by saying this place is not cheap. But we had the full blown traditional First Nation yatista meal with venison in puffed pastry appy, 3 sisters soup, maple pie for dessert, & the main course of the trio meats of bison, elk, & deer. The presentation is amazing & all the food was excellent. Get in the traditional attitude before eating. The local native beer was good too. A memorable experience & I do mean we will remember this meal 10 years from now.

Wild game meats but I believe they were farm raised so not as gamey as expected. The bison "spare ribs" were fantastic. Pictures are of the totem poles at the front of the restaurant. The maple pie dessert is amazing (but super super sweet).
