Having traveled part of the globe to demonstrate the richness of our culture and our traditions, the idea of creating Sagamité was born from the desire to make known our beautiful culture at home in Wendake.

The Sagamité Restaurant in Wendake was founded in 1999 and since then, we have been welcoming local, regional and worldwide customers curious to discover our culture through a gastronomic experience. The name of the restaurant testifies to this by its name; for the Wendat, Sagamité was at the heart of our diet. It is a soup-meal enriched with game where we find the famous “Three Sisters”: squash, corn and red beans, that we cultivate.

Since July 2019, the Sagamité Vieux-Québec restaurant has been introducing First Nations gastronomy to visitors to the historic district of Québec.

The Sagamité restaurant has traced the path of Aboriginal gastronomy, which we have demystified over time thanks to game. It is an establishment of choice for a clientele curious to live a gourmet and cultural experience at the same time.

The Saga Nomade Food Truck can be found all around Québec City and is also available for private events. Our specialties include our Signature poutine and our Elk burger. This is street food with an indigenous twist!

Tout ce que nous avons mangé était goûteux: foie gras, calumet poêlé, raviolis au cerf & wapiti. J'ai beaucoup aimé l'ambiance chaleureuse & la décoration du restaurant qui rappellait ses origines autochtones. Mention spéciale à notre serveur qui était si gentil & semblait adorer son travail, c'est beau de voir ça!

Nous avons profité du menu cinq (5) services à 95$ dans le cadre de Québec - Table Gourmande. Nous avons adoré les pétoncles & le calumet fondant. La soupe Sagamité était aussi très bonne, mais ça demeure une soupe à la viande hachée... Les médaillons était corrects... le cerf étant beaucoup plus tendre que le wapiti. J'ai trouvé le tout un peu cher pour la qualité bien qu'il s'agisse d'une occasion unique de goûter à de la viande sauvage. Le service était très avenant & la décoration sublime. Nous avons passé une agréable soirée.

We happened on to Sagamite looking for a light lunch. It was it busy & we were quickly seated. Wow, the decor is spectacular with totem poles, canoe & some great paintings. It focuses of food from the First Nation. We shared the appetizer of pastry with venison & elk. It was very good with a tasty sauce. A unique & special restaurant.

Le cerf bourguignon était très salé. J'ai aimé l'ambiance décontractée & le décor. La truite gravlax, le potage & la tarte à l'érable étaient délicieux.

We really enjoyed this restaurant! The decor portrayed the indigenous culture which complemented the cuisine. The choices featured several game meats & all were superbly prepared. The Tarte à l'érable was a perfect finish. Our server was very patient & helped us make our choices.
