Having traveled part of the globe to demonstrate the richness of our culture and our traditions, the idea of creating Sagamité was born from the desire to make known our beautiful culture at home in Wendake.

The Sagamité Restaurant in Wendake was founded in 1999 and since then, we have been welcoming local, regional and worldwide customers curious to discover our culture through a gastronomic experience. The name of the restaurant testifies to this by its name; for the Wendat, Sagamité was at the heart of our diet. It is a soup-meal enriched with game where we find the famous “Three Sisters”: squash, corn and red beans, that we cultivate.

Since July 2019, the Sagamité Vieux-Québec restaurant has been introducing First Nations gastronomy to visitors to the historic district of Québec.

The Sagamité restaurant has traced the path of Aboriginal gastronomy, which we have demystified over time thanks to game. It is an establishment of choice for a clientele curious to live a gourmet and cultural experience at the same time.

The Saga Nomade Food Truck can be found all around Québec City and is also available for private events. Our specialties include our Signature poutine and our Elk burger. This is street food with an indigenous twist!

The food was quite good, aside from a portion of the fries being overcooked for both my partner
& I, & the butter being rock-hard. The service was mediocre. Seated right away, we had a reservation... then 30 minutes with no acknowledgement at all. I mean
none. Then a quick stop by the host to ask for our vaccine passports, he told us he'd be right there a couple of times, then 15 minutes later, we ordered. When he took our orders, I asked the host if my 11 year old could have her own little bread bowl & was told no, the table gets one bowl, for everyone. I explained it was that I would like her to have one when entrées were served as there was none she wanted, & I would pay, & received a loud, categoric, embarrassing, no. Perhaps I'm being petty but it seems to me that it should not have been a difficult request to accommodate. When the service did start rolling in they were quick, a couple of check-ins & refills. The waiter was quite nice. I won't be back, though. The food is very nice, & I did keep Covid & staffing issues in mind, I'm just too put off by the service.

Depuis 10 ans à chacun de nos séjour à Québec, nous consacrons une ou deux soirée au Sagamité & nous n'avons jamais été déçu; nous pouvons même parler d'un plus gustatif sur ce dernier diner ; petite nostalgie de l'ancien établissement à Wendake mais celui de Vieux Québec est très accueillant & le service souriant & attentif ; la table d'hôte de la potence aux trois gibiers reste notre référence
