We have eaten all over the world, & we like good, solid food. Not experiments in foams. This dinner ranks in our top 3 which includes some of the top restaurants on the planet.
We came in late due to traffic & the co-owner & Jules (our server) put us immediately at ease. We let Jules take control of the ordering & he hit on every plate we tasted: scallops, razor clams, swordfish, Chanterelles (one of the best dishes ever), & the blueberry sorbet to end took me back to when blueberries were not genetically engineered.
But honestly it came back to Jules & the way he made us feel that they were cooking just for us, & the care & sincere interest he had in ensuring we loved our meal. & we did.
Go there. Sit at the bar. Let them order for you. It was lovely.

Disappointed that there was no opportunity for a walk in at 5pm - exactly when they opened on a Wednesday evening in the summer. I'm unsure how anyone could ever walk in if they always reserve out the bar completely. The reservations seem to book out about 2 months in advance so any opportunity to dine here requires great planning.

Nettement mon resto préféré depuis plusieurs années. Boire, manger, échanger avec des gens super ! Recommandation : on s'assoit au bar pis on jase avec Marine :-)

One of the most memorable meals I've had in a very long time. Two seats at the bar, six plates shared between us, every one of them absolutely delicious. Service & the pacing of courses was perfect, vibe was casual & warm, vinyl selections were on point. Thank you for a wonderful evening, Buvette Scott! Merci!
Late review. Had dinner at the bar over a year ago & it was lovely. Great to see chef(s) doing their thing from where I was sitting.. food was fresh, creative, well presented & accommodations were made for me as I'm vegetarian. Nice cozy atmosphere, good wine, kind gentleman waited on me at bar ;)
Durant mon road trip gastronomique avec mon conjoint cet été, nous nous sommes arrêtés à Québec & avons découvert la Buvette Scott, une recommandation Michelin « petit prix ».
Quelle belle découverte! Un petit resto intime avec une ambiance chaleureuse & un service attentionné.
Nous étions assis au bar & servis par Marine, qui connaissait parfaitement ses vins & nous a guidés avec beaucoup de passion.
Le menu est original & plein de belles surprises.
Coup de coeur absolu pour le tartare de veau un délice! ✨ Je recommande sans hésiter.
Endroit convivial avec des plats raffinés mais pas tape à l'oeil.
Léo est toujours de bon conseil pour l'accompagnement mêt-vin.
Je recommande sans problème.

Food was incredible, service was exceptional (big ups to Etienne!! 😇), great atmosphere. Our favourite resturaunt in the city - a must visit when we return to QC.
Seafood platter was exceptional. Yummy oysters, 6 for $16. Sea urchin (uni) was so, so, so good. It was so complex, but so well done. Scallops were great too.
We tried duck ham, which my partner enjoyed. Rabbit pasta was fantastic. With a little less salt it would have been absolutely perfect.
Service was amazing. I could tell that hosts, servers, bartender, all really cares about their customers' experience. They talked to all customers, asking them how they were doing, what they could add, making small talk. It was really great to watch.
Restaurant is quaint (book online & in advance! We almost did not get a spot). Reserve at least two weeks in advance!

This is one of those restaurants where you know going into it that it's going to be an AMAZING overall experience. We sat at the bar, which I highly recommend. I feel like it gave a more personalized, intimate experience! They really made us feel like we were dining with an old friend! Our server/bartender was amazing!! He paired wine suggestions perfectly with the various things we ordered, & he gave us a glass of this DELICIOUS wine that he went & got specially for us from their wine storage. They were also playing vinyl & having so much fun putting on different records, adding even more to the cool, fun, but cozy atmosphere. We ordered a bunch of different things, & everything was so well-crafted & perfectly executed. If I had to pick a favorite, it would be the beef tartare. Definitely the best I've ever had. It was so tempting to try everything on the menu - & we almost did! This truly wasn't just *any* restaurant. This was an EXPERIENCE & one of the best ones at that. Buvette Scott, I will be back!!!
Great find on our recent trip to Quebec. A short walk from the old city. Reservations a must. I counted 25 seats including those at the bar. Multiple groups were turned away while we dined as not a seat was empty for 2 hours. Wonderful farm to table approach. They make their own cheese & pasta & butcher their own meat. Imaginative dishes & wide ranging, well priced, wine list. Food was great. Service was impeccable - personable, helpful, but still professional while fluently bilingual.
