Review Summary

Café Olive is widely recognized as a premier destination for coffee enthusiasts in Quebec City, known for its exceptional craft brews and commitment to quality. The tiny, minimalist space focuses on a curated menu featuring expertly prepared espressos, filtered coffees, and highly praised pastries like canelés and cardamom buns. While the intimate shop has limited seating and can become crowded, many visitors appreciate the warm atmosphere and the clear passion behind every cup. Service experiences vary, with some guests praising the knowledgeable and friendly baristas, while others have noted inconsistencies in staff demeanor or pricing. Overall, the establishment remains a must-visit for those seeking a high-quality, authentic coffee experience on one of the city's most beautiful streets.

We arrived just before it was closing & the host was kind to make sure we had the pastries as they were close to shut down for the day. Definitely recommend them.. love the taste & the service 😊

I cannot say enough good things about this tiny, delicious café! We were fortunate to be staying just around the corner & happened upon it our first morning in Quebec - we returned every single day when we were in town & enjoyed talking with the owner, trying so many delicious pastries - the basque cheesecake was incredible! We also had canales, a tart & a cinnamon bun- as well as cappuccinos & cortados. Truly everything was delicious!

Amazing local coffee spot with great brews & pastries.

Stumbled upon this place while walking around the neighborhood for some good local spots. The shop was run by two guys who clearly live & breathe coffee. A small counter-service setup, minimalist & focused, serving exclusively beans from La Cabra. I'd only known La Cabra as a bakery in New York, so I was surprised to learn it actually originated as a renowned roastery in Denmark.

Never been fully sold on filtered coffee, but the barista here changed my mind. I tried two different brews. Kenyan & an Ethiopian blend. The Kenyan had a light floral finish that felt complete on its own, while the Ethiopian was fruitier & paired perfectly with the chocolate praline tart I had on the side.

Highly recommend giving them a try. & if you're curious about coffee blends, linger by the counter & chat with the baristas.

Wonderful little cafe with a simple menu of items but that are all excellent. If you're not taking your coffee to go, then you may need to wait a little for a space to sit but on a nice day, what's the rush.
Delicious pastries pair with equally delicious coffees. I don't think you'll be disappointed here.

Cute little café in Quebec. Great service, very friendly barista, excellent iced latte with Oatly. The coffee is easily the best in town & one of the best I had in Canada. The only thing that's missing is some pastries like croissants to make the whole experience perfect. I highly recommend this place if you are in the area
