AFFAMÉS D’HISTOIRE?

Le 160, rue Saint-Paul s’est toujours avéré un lieu où les ingrédients et le service de qualité supérieurs font la loi. Fondé en 1860 par Narcisse Rioux, le magasin général Chez Rioux & Pettigrew fournissait aux restaurateurs, aux épiciers, aux hôpitaux et aux communautés religieuses une grande variété de produits locaux ou d’importation.

Barils de mélasse, poches de farine, sucre, gruau, fruits et légumes en conserves, épices, noix, raisins secs, chocolat, bonbons présentés sur des étalages… On y trouvait même de l’alcool jusqu’à la création de la Commission des liqueurs en 1921!

My wife has dietary restrictions for medical reasons. Our waiter took careful note of every restriction & we were able to thoroughly enjoy each of the four carefully constructed & personalized courses from the tasting menu. As the waiter promised, each course was delightful.

Excellent stop on our Quebec City vacation. We did the Surprise Tasting menu & it made our evening an event. We definitely would return. The whole vibe was fun including a walk thru the kitchen to get to our table.

My wife & I had the tasting menu, which was fantastic & very unique. Pasta, fancy drinks (& bread) were a hit with the kids. Would definitely recommend for any foodies visiting Quebec.

We had a delightful & delicious dinner. We were lucky enough to get a table in the window & chose the tasting menu. The food was inventive & flavourful. We both preferred the beef to the bison, (texture was the issue) but the octopus component of the bison plate was terrific. The service was outstanding in both official languages! The servers were observant, entertaining & professional.. It was an outstanding experience

We did the tasting menu, ordered a bottle of wine, & had a great evening. Great service & the food was very good. Don't forget the bread!

What a treat to dine at this excellent restaurant. Everything from start to finish was perfect- the service was warm, friendly & very knowledgeable of the menu, ingredients & presentation. I did the four course tasting, & each dish was unique & delicious. Highly recommend

Our first night in Quebec so we chose a restaurant nearby to our hotel. Sounded like our kind of restaurant. We love sitting at the bar & the evening was off to a great start with Jeremy. We wanted to try the blind tasting menu but opted for a la carte as we wanted to try certain dishes. The oysters & bread were perfect & could have made that our dinner. Jeremy recommended a great bottle of wine too. All servers were wonderful. A perfect start to our holiday.
