My wife is a huge french onion soup lover & someone said they had the best in town. She was actually pretty angry because she didn't get much cheese on her soup & the guy next to us got a ton. I kept telling her she got the less because we are Americans . Regardless, the soup was exceptional it has incredible flavor & I agree it is one of the best French Onion soups i've had. She also got a burger & I got the Seafood pie. It was basically Shepard pie with shrimp & scallops. & was very very satisfying. The only draw back is that I am a fat f & the tables are spaced pretty close together. Not a lot of room to move. Otherwise, the food , the service & the price made for a wonderful lunch.
Great service, & incredible food! We walked in without a reservation, & the downstairs looked quite busy. Luckily they were able to still sit us as they actually have a second floor which was almost empty & very quiet (which we preferred) Ordered the Beef Tartare & the French Onion soup & they were both very good. Some of the best I've tried! We ordered some beers & everything came quite quick. Really happy with the location & quality of the restaurant & food. Thanks!
Super cute place for a meal. I had lunch here at happy hour. The French onion soup was delicious & very warming on a cold day. The fisherman's pie was amazing & the scallops were cooked well. Not sure was the salad dressing was, but it was my favorite.
Came for a cold drink, had lunch & wine, & an amazing beer, carrot soup was incredible compliments to chef
French onion soup & beef tartare are a safe bet! Thanks Luisa & Mike
Incroyable souper Chez Temporel!
We ordered French Onion soup, potato blinis, & benedictine of the moment. Food is delightful & balanced in flavour. Service & vibes are real good & chill. They even initiated to correct the order after it has been served. Can't recommend this place enough!
The food was ok, but very few options available on the menu, & even some of them weren't available on that day. The service was just fair, 6 people behind the bar but only 2 really working so the order was delayed & mistaken. They speak French & English so language wasn't an issue. The onion soup was tasty but a bit expensive for the size ($14/each). The risotto was overcooked, more like a rice pudding texture. Not the worst, but neither the best restaurant in old quebec.
