I had ordered the only vegetarian option on the menu & it was bad. My husband's order was really good. He had ordered the duck tartare. But the evening was ruined by the waitress. She was friendly but she acted as if she was with us & kept interrupting our conversation & passing random comments on my husband. We let it pass, thinking its Quebec & people are supposed to be friendly. But it became downright outrageous & really uncomfortable when she proceeded to sit at our table (she asked us our plans for the night, we politely asked if she had any recommendations!) & then she turned her back to me & ignored me & spoke only to my husband. When it was evident he wasnt comfortable she included me in the conversation only to make a snide comment on how the place she was recommending was classy but what I was wearing would work too. Not the great cozy dinner we were expecting. You should know the difference between friendly service & crossing a line. I hate giving bad reviews but our first dinner experience in the city was kind off ruined by this.
Great food & great atmosphere. Went on a Thursday & it's off the main tourist street in the Old City, so it was a little slow. That said, being on a side street without all the foot traffic, street performers, & live music made for a much more relaxing experience. I will definitely come here again next time I'm in Quebec City!
Amazing service great food, highly recommend it to anyone!!!! Amazing atmosphere
My partner & I decided to visit Chez Temporel based on a friend's recommendation from their time in Quebec. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted by a lovely ambiance & delectable food. Despite not typically indulging in alcohol, I sought something to complement my meal. François graciously offered to craft a custom drink for me, taking the time to understand my preferences. The "cha" he concocted was simply exquisite. We're already planning our return visit, as both the cuisine & the hospitality of the staff were exceptional. Chez Temporel is a definite must-visit destination in Quebec!
Located in a small alley but still attracts many customers to visit. Foods are delicious, & cocktails are fantastic. Only 1 chef cooks for the all customers, so foods may come with a bit delay. It will be worth your time since evey dishes are well-cooked, flavoured & melted in mouth. Highly recommend Duck Caesar Salad.
Definitely adults only, I wouldn't take kids here. No on-site parking. Needs reservations. Nice ambiance, small place, but the food was quite expensive & it was good & all, but not like'the best food ever'... I wouldn't eat here again nor recommend to others, but nothing against the great staff or cute restaurant.
Expected better meals based on reviews & prices. The smoked brisket was served as a lukewarm sandwich with a curious rectangle of very ordinary coleslaw. The stuffed quail was good - although also not as hot as expected. To compensate we were given a maple syrup pie - with a tough charred crust. On the plus side, service was excellent.
Food is delicious & service is great. We enjoyed the dinner very much.
