Review Summary

Chez Temporel is a highly regarded, charming bistro tucked away on a quiet street in Old Quebec City, offering an authentic and cozy atmosphere that feels like a local hidden gem. Guests consistently praise the exceptional quality of the French-inspired menu, with standout dishes like the mushroom risotto with duck confit, beef tartare, French onion soup, and fresh seafood selections. While the space is intimate and can become busy, the service is frequently described as warm, professional, and genuinely attentive, making visitors feel welcomed and well-cared for throughout their meal. Although experiences are overwhelmingly positive, with many diners considering it the highlight of their trip, prospective patrons are encouraged to make reservations to ensure a spot in this delightful, well-rated establishment.

Scallops were tender, sauce was outstanding. Wife's cod was equally great. Marie, our server, was friendly, helpful, attentive & professional. Located in an old non-touristy neighborhood, ambiance was perfect.

Sandwich is really good. Mustard sauce is really a wonderful surprise to me. The salad is light & flavorful at the same time. Good serve overall!

Limited offerings, but we knew that going in. What the do, they do well. Small place, but cozy. They try hard & food is very good.

From local place to tourist trap. Indeed, good service & atmosphere but small portions & they recently significantly increased the prices. Not worth it anymore

What a delightful find & our top choice for dining during our weekend in Old Quebec! We had the pleasure of visiting twice, once for dinner & once for brunch, & sampled a total of 9 different items, all of which were delicious. Our favorites included the onion soup, squash soup, Caesar salad, & the remarkable key lime pie. Speaking of the key lime pie, it’s a hidden gem not featured on the menu & not available every day, but it’s a real treat, resembling crème brûlée with the perfect balance of sweetness.

Adding to the charm, the restaurant is nestled in an antique setting that provides a peaceful escape from the bustling main streets, avoiding the noise & crowds. The staff, while friendly, appeared to be a bit short-handed at times, resulting in occasional delays in service. Nevertheless, it was a great dining experience that we would highly recommend.
