We had the Canadian steak, mushroom risotto with duck confit, & shrimp roll. All were great!
We just spent 5 days in Quebec City & ate a lot of wonderful food, but dinner at Chez Temporel was by far the best. It's located in the Old Town, but down a quiet side street away from the busy tourist area. The building is old, & the interior is not particularly fancy, but the atmosphere, imaginative ingredient combinations, & excellent wine list made for a memorable evening. We ordered the foie gras & escargot to start, followed by the mushroom risotto with duck, & the salmon. All were delicious! It's worth noting that the English translation of the online menu did not inspire us with confidence before we decided to book a table - don't be put off by that!
Quaint restaurant with divine French onion soup. Enjoyed mushroom risotto with duck, shrimp roll, escargot, cafe latte, couple of glasses of wine, slice of sugar pie. Waitress did a good job- she was the solo server.
What a cozy & inviting experience. This place feels like a hidden gem. (At least to us.). It was off the beaten path. We went for a late breakfast & ended up sampling a divine lunch that included duck & fisherman's pie. The attention & care along with the service made this a place we will definitely return to when we are return to Quebec City.
What a beauriful discovery in Old Quebec. Food is top notch & definitely a hidden gem!!! The rissotto with duck is AMAZING.
We booked this French restaurant for Christmas Eve, being informed of a set menu via phone call the day of our booking. The soups were served cold, with small (think several tablespoon) portion sizes that were inconsistent across the table. The duck foie gras arrived on cold, burnt toast, & the ravioli-a mere three lukewarm pieces per person-were undercooked & lacked flavor. Dessert was largely uninspired with just a small slice of cake topped with popcorn. For the premium price charged, the menu felt lazy & poorly thought out. The service also left a lot to be desired; despite informing the restaurant during booking that we would be dining with a one-year-old, the waitress rolled her eyes on arrival & provided only an adult chair, leaving us to again request a booster seat. The entire meal felt rushed & concluded in under an hour, providing us with a largely underwhelming experience for the price charged.
FANTASTIC MEAL!! I hardly ever write reviews but this place was amazing!!! It's a hidden gem with excellent food, great staff, & cozy vibe. I had the mushroom risotto with duck confit & it is probably one of the best meals I've ever had!! Do not miss this if you are in Québec City!!!!
While traveling quebec my wife & i found this place on accident. The first day we came here for the lunch menu & it was so great that we had to come back for dinner. The highlights in terms of food where the mushroom risotto with duck, the fisherman's pie & especially the artichoke dip (absolute must try). all the staff were incredibly nice but especially Flora on the second night was incredibly friendly. amazing place, huge recommendation
