It was so good for lunch that we went back the same night for dinner! I had the croque monsieur for lunch & it was picture-perfect as well as tasty. It was served with the most delicious yet simply salad verte. For dinner I had the beef bourguignon & again, perfect & delicious. I loved the portion sizes of everything - just right. The place itself is very cute & intimate & perfectly darkened. The service was friendly & excellent. We hope to be able to return!
Had the duck confit Caesar salad & it was amazing, some of the best duck I've had & the broccoli instead of the lettuce was a brilliant idea! We also had the maple syrup pie which was delicious, very subtle flavor with a delicate crust that we loved. Last but not least we had an onion soup that didn't disappoint & my wife had the scallops, overall a great experience including a very friendly service & a beautiful ambience. Highly recommend!
We had a delicious dinner with friendly service. The duck confit Caesar salad was superb & the scallops were also delicious. The setting is super simple andcasual, but the food was outstanding
Sandwich is really good. Mustard sauce is really a wonderful surprise to me. The salad is light & flavorful at the same time. Good serve overall!
What a delightful find & our top choice for dining during our weekend in Old Quebec! We had the pleasure of visiting twice, once for dinner & once for brunch, & sampled a total of 9 different items, all of which were delicious. Our favorites included the onion soup, squash soup, Caesar salad, & the remarkable key lime pie. Speaking of the key lime pie, it’s a hidden gem not featured on the menu & not available every day, but it’s a real treat, resembling crème brûlée with the perfect balance of sweetness.
Adding to the charm, the restaurant is nestled in an antique setting that provides a peaceful escape from the bustling main streets, avoiding the noise & crowds. The staff, while friendly, appeared to be a bit short-handed at times, resulting in occasional delays in service. Nevertheless, it was a great dining experience that we would highly recommend.

This is a quirky, cosy little restaurant. I loved my salad with confit duck - it was probably the best meal I had whilst in Québec! The margaritas were to die for too. Unfortunately my husband ordered the burger which was small & rather average, hence the three stars given for food.
The service was great. Friendly & efficient.

There were 4 of us: one reported the tomato/strawberry salad was fabulous; one said the cod over pea soup was quite good, especially the soup part, & well prepared; one was satisfied; I was disappointed in the so-called Cesar salad--the romaine was great, but the dressing was disappointing, lacked flavor, & was certainly not Cesar & the duck confit was good but unremarkable. We very much enjoyed everything else, especially the ambiance & host person.

We discovered Chez Temporal in 2021 & returned when visiting Quebec City again in 2023. The food is simply outstanding. I ordered the duck confit salad, & every element of the dish was excellent. The setting is friendly & informal, & restaurant's location off the major streets packed with tourists feels like an oasis.

Our favorite meal in Quebec - & we went to several
of the highest rated upscale restaurants. The Duck Confit salad was delicious, as were the Beef Bourguignon & Venison dishes. Prices were reasonable as well. Highly recommend.
