The food was amazing! That was the first meal we take in Quebec city, & today I stay in another restaurant & finish the second day's dinner right now, & I realize this might be the best French restaurant in the whole city! If you don't order wine the price won't go that high. ( I just edited it, I went here October 2024)
We just spent 5 days in Quebec City & ate a lot of wonderful food, but dinner at Chez Temporel was by far the best. It's located in the Old Town, but down a quiet side street away from the busy tourist area. The building is old, & the interior is not particularly fancy, but the atmosphere, imaginative ingredient combinations, & excellent wine list made for a memorable evening. We ordered the foie gras & escargot to start, followed by the mushroom risotto with duck, & the salmon. All were delicious! It's worth noting that the English translation of the online menu did not inspire us with confidence before we decided to book a table - don't be put off by that!
Wow! This place is a gem. Fantastic meals , wine & great service. We had the salmon & French onion soup & they both were fantastic. We tried a local white wine & were impressed. Highly recommend.
Quaint restaurant with divine French onion soup. Enjoyed mushroom risotto with duck, shrimp roll, escargot, cafe latte, couple of glasses of wine, slice of sugar pie. Waitress did a good job- she was the solo server.
Dropped in for wine & fois gras, & was treated so well by the charming bartenders. After a long day of driving, this was medicine. Thank you, lovely people.
Came for a cold drink, had lunch & wine, & an amazing beer, carrot soup was incredible compliments to chef
A cosy little restaurant with an interesting menu. The seared fois gras was outstanding & so well presented that I had to take a photo. For our main meals, my husband had the beef cheek & I had the octopus. Both had amazing flavours, & the crème brûlée rounded off a perfect dinner. For 3 courses plus a bottle of red wine cost around $350, including the tip, but it was worth it. Friendly service too.

A limited menu with wonderful food, the cod was outstanding & the wines offered by the glass were very nice! Great service. :)
