My wife & I visiting from the states found this place for lunch, absolutely amazing. Two young women running the whole place (one at the bar the other in the kitchen) & crushed it. The food, the drinks, the service. Totally beat our experience at the nearby Fairmont. Could not recommend more.
The tartare was tremendous!
Nice service, the owner was there & is very friendly.
Un bel endroit tranquille pour prendre une bonne bière & discuter entre amis.
Good enough to justify a plane ticket. Good enough that the fact the restaurant has no Michelin star leads me to believe Michelin is the one who's wrong. Good enough to justify learning French. It's existential crisis levels of quality.
I had a burger here. Attempting to eat a burger from any other restaurant now results in crushing disappointment to the point where I can't finish it. The quality sails past good & lands on genuinely confusing, like why is it so noticeably so much better here even by comparison to the other restaurants in QC including the more expensive ones??
Superbe auberge servant ds plats faits maison de qualité & réconfortants, je recommande !!
If your airport has flights to Quebec City it is worth the plane ticket to eat here. One of the better meals in a long time. Comparable to a Michelin star place. Octopus with beans was mind blowing & so good. Small but excellent wine selection. Like your French grandmother was cooking for you. Very casual & a little loud - left bank authentic.
Had the pleasure of the owner Luis attending us for a wonderful lunch. We had an informal tour of French onion soups at various restaurants & this was #1! We told Luis we did the same thing at Sanibel in Florida for Keylime pie & what do you know, his wife the chef had made a Keylime pie on a one off whim. Who would've thought we go all the way to Canada to have probably the best piece of Keylime pie in our lives. Sorry Keylime Bistro & Gramma Dots, you're now runner up & third place. The food was incredible & next time we go, we will have dinner there.
As a lot of the reviews have noted, this place is a wonderful restaurant that's off the beaten path. The staff are friendly (Lea is an exceptional waitress) welcoming & go out of their way to make the dining experience a memorable one. The food is spectacular. The flavours are unique, balanced & authentic; we loved every bite! The whole experience was so enjoyable; we decided to book another table for a couple nights later. Looking forward to experiencing this amazing restaurant whenever we're in QC.
