Evidently a neighbourhood institution. In operation for 50 years which is impressive in itself. An excellent brunch visit. The washrooms are upstairs & a bit tricky to navigate so you've been warned. ;)

We just spent 5 days in Quebec City & ate a lot of wonderful food, but dinner at Chez Temporel was by far the best. It's located in the Old Town, but down a quiet side street away from the busy tourist area. The building is old, & the interior is not particularly fancy, but the atmosphere, imaginative ingredient combinations, & excellent wine list made for a memorable evening. We ordered the foie gras & escargot to start, followed by the mushroom risotto with duck, & the salmon. All were delicious! It's worth noting that the English translation of the online menu did not inspire us with confidence before we decided to book a table - don't be put off by that!

Chez Temporel is a cozy, charming café that completely exceeded my expectations. Tucked away on a quiet street in Old Quebec, it has a warm & welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel like a local. I only had a few drinks & the olive appetizer but I'm absolutely positive that everything else on the menu is perfect 👌

The service was friendly & unpretentious, with staff who clearly care about the experience. Maybe they could easily tell i wasnt from the area but they made sure to explain some great spots to hit on my weekend getaway in Quebec.

To all my fellow American travelers or honestly anyone; whether you're looking for a relaxing breakfast, a laid-back lunch, or just a place to unwind with a good book & a great espresso, Chez Temporel is a spot you have to stop by. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Quebec City!

Late lunch on a rainy afternoon. The wait staff found a place for us in this little place with tight space & proceeded to give us exceptional food & service. This is the perfect escape from the Vieux-Quebec fast food.

Chez Temporel à Québec est une vraie découverte. Le lieu a une âme, loin des attrape-touristes qui pullulent dans le coin. L'ambiance y est chaleureuse, l'espace agréable & authentique. J'y ai découvert un super vin blanc de l'Acadie, absolument délicieux, grâce aux recommandations du barman - vraiment passionné & attentionné. Je n'ai pas eu la chance d'y manger cette fois, mais l'endroit donne clairement envie de revenir. Une adresse à retenir pour un verre tranquille dans un cadre vrai & sans prétention.

We were able to get a table outside without reservations. Our server was efficient & friendly & the meal was delicious. Very close to a loud venue, but the gentle curve of the street kept it quiet & romantic, exactly what we were looking for in QC.
