Ciel!
Ciel was recommended to us by a number of people for our anniversary dinner. I am happy to say it didn't disappoint. Our server Julie was amazing. She was attentive, professional & very accommodating & friendly. The food was delicious. The panoramic views were fantastic. The value for this fine dining experience with gorgeous views of the city is excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone visiting Quebec City & particularly for a special occasion.
My husband I spent our last dinner in Quebec at Ciel! Everything was wonderful! The service was great, the food was delicious & the views of the city were spectacular! I would highly recommend spending an evening at Ciel!
This was a fantastic experience through & through- from the server, to the food, to the view. However, I'd like to talk mainly about the food.
To start, I ordered the soup dujour, which was a potato-cream. It was warming & perfectly creamy, with just a hint of spice. My boyfriend & I shared the cerviche, which was full of very refreshing flavours. For the main course, I got the lamb, while my boyfriend got the Spanish octopus. The lamb was cooked perfectly! There's was no game-y or unwanted lamb flavours, just succulent juicy meat in a delicious sauce. The octopus was bursting with flavour as well! For dessert, I got the creme brulee-- it was a cornucopia of flavours! I couldn't even figure out what I was tasting at first, but I think I figured it out; they must put coconut milk or something as their secret ingredient.
Anyway, I would highly recommend this restaurant for your next date night. A fantastic restaurant in the heart of Old Quebec City!

An absolute gem of Québec City. It a great I fear to start by this to get a global view of the city. The service & the food were great… & the view magnificent!
The menu options are very limited. Food was ok. The bread that was served before the meal was on the basic side that would align with a more budget friendly option & not with this type of location. Do not expect a nice sour dough or focaccia bread. The place is nice for the view that you get but consider that you pay for the view not the meal. Additionally, it does not have a way for you to get photos after your meal or before. No walking platform as you may have experienced at other locations such as the one in ON near the falls. Take photos while you are at the table & don't forget because that is the only chance you have at snapping a picture from above.
My gf never been to a rotating restaurant before so I brought her here. The view is great, the rotating speed is actually slower than other rotating restaurants that I've been to. I only came for the food honestly.
First to the restaurant, it was odd that the dining table has a paper instead of usual table cloths?
The food is 6/10 honestly.
The entree, we got duck foie gras & cerf(venison) gravlax. The entree is 7.5/10 or 8/10 is a little bit salty but they have something sweet to accompany it very well. It definitely need to have something better to take it 8/10 or 9/10
We got the lamb rack. That one was honestly a disappointment. The vegetables are just vegetables. nothing much hard to make it at home. Not inspiring. They give the root of the fennel & serve it that way… like really? The lamb is chewy, hard to bite. To solve this problem, many restaurants will cook it for longer time so that it becomes more tender & easier to bite.
Easily 5/10, the only saving grace is the smashed white beans. Those are goods
The dessert, we got the shortbread 7/10.
Usually problem with shortbread that it is hard & dry, they accompany it with ice cream & haskap berry which is the right thing to do. But pretty much that's it? It feels like need something more to make it better than homemade equivalent. This is something I made at home before. With the exception of the orange jam/stuff that laid all over the plate. The ice cream also taste like one of the store bought ice cream.
To dine in a place for slightly worse or better home cook meal feels not worth it. Avoid this if you're looking for good food.
The autumn menu looks much better than summer menu. The autumn menu looks way different & more inspiring. & I was thinking those are the stuff that they gonna serve🥲
Between KL rotating restaurant & this, I will put KL rotating restaurant over this. KL's rotating restaurant are larger & they're buffet with many different kind of food. & actually taste very good. You can walk around everywhere & more free.
Edit: there are many better restaurants that worth more of your money in Ville de Quebec. I will say avoid this
Edit2: forgot to mention, the service is good! Don't worry on service front
Unique food combinations, made for a special night out & the view is absolutely awesome! If possible, time it so you get daylight, twilight, sunset & full dark with city lights aglow
