What a wonderful experience. Beautiful setting, exceptional wait staff & delicious food. They offered a vegetarian menu & accommodated our kids. The wine pairing is worth doing.

We stayed at the Auberge Saint-Antoine hotel & had breakfast at Coteau for two days. Staying at a hotel like the Auberge Saint-Antoine you would expect a great breakfast & even our high expectations were exceeded. The buffet had flaky & delicious french pastries (the Pain au Chocolat was amazing), the yogurts & fruits were very good. Quebec is known for their strawberries & Coteau showed how fabulous they were in homemade jams & in the fruit bowls. They also had hot options of eggs, bacon, local sausage & oatmeal. They also had a wide choice of juices, teas & great'french' coffee.
We also had dinner at Coteau. We were a little leary of ordering a 5 course Prix Fixe menu with no choices & not knowing what we would be eating. Coteau came through with a great leisurely repast with wonderful unique preparations of, mainly, food we have had before but exquisitely prepared. We also chose the wine pairings which carefully compliment each course. Our waitress explained each course to us & described the wine & how it complimented the courses. It was a delightful romantic dinner filled with laughter, great food, candle lit tables & great service.

Outstanding food. Imaginatively created & locally sourced. Its a blind tasting menu but all courses were fantastic. The wine pairing is definately pushing boundaries & whilst all were interesting, I personally thought some worked better than others. Of the 3 dinners we had in Quebec this was easily the best, far surpassing a local one star Michelin. Talented team creating a great experience. Throughly recommend.

I want to like this restaurant, because it's associated with my favorite hotel. However, I was disappointed. My aim of this review is to make the restaurant better, not to ruin its reputation.
One course, the wagyu beef, was worthy of the price. All other courses were simply not good. Overly creative & lacking flavor. I'm truly amazed the restaurant has 4.7 stars. Maybe we had a bad night.
Capping all this was an abysmal wine pairing. It was as if the sommelier was attempting to find the most eccentric & unusual pairings. She did. & they all missed the mark.
I miss Chez Muffy, the restaurant Coteau replaced.

The entire experience was a delight. The atmosphere is romantic & the waitstaff is attentive. They had no issue making everything gluten free for us. The sommelier was wonderful. We loved the wine pairings & learning about the wine. The food was delicious. Each course had amazing flavors. We loved our special night at Coteau! & though it was a bit of a splurge , it was totally worth it!

Service was fantastic as was the food. Very creative & memorable. The decor & ambiance was also better than I expected based on pictures available online. Only thing lacking was a wine pairing option but obviously that's not really needed.
