My wife & I traveled to Quebec to celebrate our anniversary & we chose L'Echaudé for our celebration dinner. The ambience & food were excellent (we shared a charcuterie plate for appetizer & my wife had trout & I had beef tartare for our main courses). On that basis, I would give the restaurant 5 stars. We were a bit disappointed with the service: We ordered glasses of sparkling wine to begin & our waitress brought rosé instead. Even though I had alerted the restaurant that it was our 40th anniversary, there was no acknowledgement & our server didn't even ask if we were interested in dessert. Perhaps, this critique of service is a bit harsh, but I think it's reasonable for a restaurant that charges a premium for its food & wine.

Nous avons apprécié le site, le restaurant & le service étaient impeccables. Toutefois, étant des habitués de la promotion Québec Exquis, donc pouvant comparer dans le temps les repas que l'on nous a déjà servis, nous avons été un peu déçus. Tout d'abord, la portion servie était très minime & le pâté de foie excellent par ailleurs mais accompagné d'un seul crouton! Quant au repas principal, le canard, bon sans plus & surtout très difficile à découper; de plus le canard accompagné de chou & d'une tombée de purée de carottes (très mince tombée) nous a laissés sur notre faim. Quant au dessert, il était sublime. Par contre, on se questionne sur le fait de ne pas offrir le café ou le thé à la fin du repas, histoire de terminer sur une note plus agréable. Je dois mentionner que nous n'avons pas du tout un très grand appétit, que nous contrôlons déjà toutes nos portions à la maison (env. 80 gr. de viande - poulet & veau & que 2 fois/semaine) donc déjà de ne pas être un peu rassasiés a été très surprenant & décevant. En espérant que vous tiendrez compte de ces commentaires/critiques réfléchies & senties.
Nourriture très créative, touches originales (entrée par exemple, la coppa faite maison (viande fumée) , dessert aussi: crème brûlée au mélilot), service très chaleureux, amicale & attentionné. Ambiance agréable, on se sentait très à l'aise avec nos inquiétudes COVID,. À recommander, 10/10. Nous avons très hâte à retourner aussitôt que la térasse sera ouverte!
Words don't adequately describe the supreme culinary experience that we enjoyed at L'Echaude last evening. The chefs & their staff created dishes that were so delicious, my friends, family & I were truly overwhelmed. We felt honoured to have had the opportunity to experience the creative talents of this fine team of experts. Each one of our appetizers, entrees & desserts will be remembered forever.

Pour conclure une expérience agréable malgré quelques fautes facile à corriger: pâte feuilletée du vol au vent surcuit, & crème brûlée qui aurait pu recevoir une plus longue cuisson, le fond restait liquide.

Everything was wonderful at this restaurant last night. Right from the moment we walked in the door, we felt very welcome. Our server was kind, efficient, funny & very accommodating & our food was spectacular. The goat cheese with tomato tapenade was terrific, my beef shoulder was delicious & cooked perfectly & my husband thoroughly enjoyed his halibut & flounder dish. I had the frangipane for dessert & my husband had the chocolate cake & both were beautifully presented & terrific. We shared a small cheese plate, which was great, & our server recommended a wonderful wine, so our meal was complete. Highly recommended!!
