The table is set for Scalded the French bistro hippest part of Quebec. Chef Jean-François Girard presents an innovative and contemporary approach to cooking "Bistro" with a lunch menu varies each day and taking its source in the different seasonal products from the greater Quebec City area. Add to that a wine list with over 400 references carefully selected by our sommelier, Guillaume Blanchette, who will at the same time, advise you that unique bottle that will make you smile or the glass of wine that will marry perfectly with your meal . L'Échaudé is a neighborhood bistro atmosphere, a comfortable dining room or, alternatively, a terrace service on pedestrian street.

We were not able to order the wine that we wanted as it was not in stock.
We were incorrectly charged for 2 appetizers at $17 each. They were supposed to be included with our package from the Le Germain Hotel.

The service was very perfunctory, verging on rude. At the bar I ordered a drink & was told they only had a different version of the scotch so it was 10 dollars more. No apologies, no suggestions for alternatives. There were fruit flies buzzing around everywhere. At dinner the see ice continued to be very aloof. My wine had significant sediment at the bottom of the glass. The food was decent, but not out of this world.

L'Echaude has a lovely dining room. I enjoyed oysters, lamb, & tiramisu. Service was friendly but correct. Olny negative: the last sip of red wine was full of sediment. Very unpleasant; should not have served it this way.

We had a spectacular lunch at L'Echaude! They have a lovely lunch menu & include an appetizer with the price of your main selection. Lovely wine offerings at lunch too!

My wife & I traveled to Quebec to celebrate our anniversary & we chose L'Echaudé for our celebration dinner. The ambience & food were excellent (we shared a charcuterie plate for appetizer & my wife had trout & I had beef tartare for our main courses). On that basis, I would give the restaurant 5 stars. We were a bit disappointed with the service: We ordered glasses of sparkling wine to begin & our waitress brought rosé instead. Even though I had alerted the restaurant that it was our 40th anniversary, there was no acknowledgement & our server didn't even ask if we were interested in dessert. Perhaps, this critique of service is a bit harsh, but I think it's reasonable for a restaurant that charges a premium for its food & wine.

Excellent - service, wine selection, meal. We appreciated the dining room management - seemed to have two sittings for dinner & filled tables in such a way that we weren't sitting immediately beside anyone else. We will definitely return on our next trip to QC.
