Chef Jean-François Girard presents an innovative and contemporary approach to cooking "Bistro" with a lunch menu varies each day and taking its source in the different seasonal products from the greater Quebec City area. Add to that a wine list with over 400 references carefully selected by our sommelier, Guillaume Blanchette, who will at the same time, advise you that unique bottle that will make you smile or the glass of wine that will marry perfectly with your meal . The restaurant was pleasant good service & atmosphere but the food was only average Lobster bisque did not taste of lobster or even fish! Disappointing my wife had a steak it was ok cooked as she asked but not very tender or tasty. Overall rather disappointing.

We visited Montréal for four nights & had some magnificent dinners. Last night's dinner at L'Echaude was as good or better than any of Montreal's restaurants. We had the foie gras terrine, curry carrot soup, sea bass & saddle of rabbit. Our waiter helped us with suggestions & was engaging & made us laugh. If you are a foodie & want a relaxed experience, don't miss L'Echaude.

The interior of the restaurant is lovely & the food was exceptional (mahi for my wife, scallops for me, each prepared in ways that we could never duplicate at home). Appetizer & dessert were delicious as well, & the di Sipio Colline Teatine Bianco from Abruzzo went perfectly with the seafood.
