This was our second time at La Buche, & we were really looking forward to it due to our fantastic first experience. While the service was excellent & we always love the atmosphere, we were very disappointed with the food. The duck tartare was underwhelming. My dish (the Quebec Shepherds pie) was only lukewarm, & the presentation was not fully explained on the menu (it was a deconstructed version of a traditional dish, ie no crust). The mac & cheese w meat my date had was good but not great. We were looking forward to the thick-cut bacon we'd had before, but it wasn't on the menu this time, & none was offered. Maybe we'll try the breakfast menu next time, or maybe we will explore a new spot entirely.

So much fun at La Buche! Lively atmosphere, great service & delicious breakfast - the thick-cut, gently maple-sweetened bacon was the highlight. I highly recommend it!

Très bon service & rapide, belle ambiance avec les violonistes. La nourriture est excellente, j'ai raffolé de leur bacon, Mais il fait tellement chaud sur place que ça rend le déjeuner inconfortable, j'avais hâte de sortir.

The restaurant had a woodsy decor & served excellent comfort food. The big guy omelet with bacon, ham, sliced sausage & cheese was the best I have ever eaten. Service was prompt & very friendly.

Terrific evening from start to finish. Unfussy, casual, warm in both welcome & environment. Mains were classic & pleasant (pate Chinois, saumon x2 ways, smoky Mac & cheese w/ bacon & sausage) & dessert was appropriately indulgent (pudding a la chomeur, jos Louis a la Buche). Cocktails were a good start. Excellent service by Audrey.

Normally one of the favorite restaurants to show guests, but this time was not good. The music was way to loud for a normal conversation, the food & drinks were l o n g to be served, & the food was average. My bacon was hard & dry. I hope this was just a bad day...

Plat qui a attendu en cuisine? Je ne sais pas... Mais les fèves au lard étaient croûtées, le bacon froid & sec, le jambon dur, la crêpe figée... Déçue...
