amazing traditional quebecois restaurant. my boyfriend & i got the cabane a sucre plate to share with an extra french toast & it was the best brunch i've ever had. incredibly balanced between salty & sweet. the ambiance is great too. 10/10 recommend & i made a reservation beforehand which was good during peak brunch hours.

It's such a welcoming restaurant-every time I pass by, I see a crowd of people are crammed on the street outside the door, even in freezing weather. Luckily, I managed to book a table after several tries. If you'd like to try typical Quebecois cuisine, you should definitely go there-it won't let you down. We ordered some popular brunch dishes, & everything was perfect. Next time, we'll try their supper menu.

We went there for brunch &, although the wait time was short, we had to stand outside on the street, which was really cold-but it was absolutely worth it. The décor was fascinating; I loved every corner of the place. Even the washrooms were completely different from any restaurant washrooms we've seen before.

The staff were very friendly, & the food was excellent. The crêpes were delicious, & the lumberjack skillet is a must-try. The drip coffee was tasty as well.

Highly recommended!

Cozy spot with excellent service. We had brunch & it was amazing. There was live music playing. The whole restaurant is lovely. I would say, make a reservation if you're going during busy times & don't bring bags. There's not much space.

Christmas day brunch was fantastic 😋 The service, atmosphere & food were excellent. There was always a line up for this restaurant so I urge all to pre book, especially in the busy holiday season.

This was my first visit to La Buche & I thoroughly enjoyed my brunch & the fun ambiance, especially the'sink' in the restroom that is fashioned from an old bathtub! I sat at the counter since I was alone, & the service was friendly & attentive & the food was delicious. I was so glad I made a reservation because it was a Saturday in December & the place was full by 9 am. I look forward to going back to La Buche when I return to Quebec City so I can try different items on the menu.

It's alright for what it is - a kitschy, semi-tourist trap with decent'Quebecois' food. The meat omelette was fine, & loaded up decently enough with fillings. The maple pulled ham side was tasty, though honestly, pretty small for $7. Would be nice to get more than one slice of toast with a breakfast that cost $29. It's also pretty embarrassing that a place that styles itself as rustic & homestyle is using frozen, bought-in breakfast potatoes. The food came out quick (though, weirdly, not particularly hot). I think I saw the server once between the order & the bill, so make sure you get everything you need in one shot. Ultimately, there are better brunch options in Quebec, but La Buche is adequate if the goofy decor & pseudo-sugar shack vibes are what you want.
