Review Summary

La Buche offers a vibrant and authentic dining experience that captures the heart of traditional Quebecois cuisine. Guests frequently praise the warm, festive atmosphere and the eclectic decor, which includes a notably unique washroom design. While the menu features hearty, comfort-focused dishes such as poutine, tourtière, and various maple-inspired desserts, the attentive and friendly staff consistently enhance the visit. Although the popularity of the restaurant can lead to bustling crowds and the need for reservations, many visitors find the overall quality of the food and the lively cultural immersion well worth the experience.

Service & food was wonderful. The building is very old & quaint. The French toast & crepes were delicious 🤤

Service was excellent - no problems at all using English, quick & attentive. The french toast was too sweet for me & my partner, but we tend to like things less on the sweet side. Grandma's omelette was delicious!

A friend recommended brunch at La Buche & we were not disappointed. I had the chicken & waffles & my boyfriend had the french toast. Both were delicious, & with a real attention to detail in terms of the sauces & flavours. My only recommendation would be better descriptions on your menu. I ended up asking our server to tell me more about what I was eating. It's a good opportunity for your chef to "brag" & it would have given me better insight into what I was ordering. Thanks for a fun experience. We are back in QC in January & will definitely be back - with friends!

Lovely restaurant, great vibe, interesting & fun sink in the washroom. Everything else other than the food was great. We were 2 families of 4. Our family started our meal with the rabbit wings. Unfortunately they were super dry & the sauce felt too saucy & sweet versus it being lightly sauced. It felt that the sauce was trying to cover up the dryness of the wings. Our next dish was the Pan-Fried Foie Gras & Poor Man's Pudding & Bacon. The Foie-gras was good, but the pudding with it was just too sweet, felt like you were eating sugar with it. The French onion soup was good. The deer tartare was good, but came with too much fries & a salad. Not sure that combo worked. After having read great reviews about the place this sure was a disappointment.

Amazing opportunity to experience classic Quebec dishes in a country cabin experience with fun make you want to move French music.. no need to know the words the rhythm & music are catchy.
The rabbit wings are barbecued in the most delicious sweet barbecue sauce. This sauce needs to be sold nationally in grocery stores.
The venison tartare & classic Shepard's pie are also a must. You don't want to miss this very casual Quebec experience.. you are in the bush.

We went for brunch & were bllown away by the food. The French toast is a must so we ordered that & the smoked salmon savoury crepes. Excellent food, great service, & a must if you go to Québec. Reservations were required. 100% would go back.
