Amazing meal & wonderful service. There were 6 of us & we had a reservation & everything was amazing. The French toast was to die for.

Every visit from Halifax requires a stop a La Buche. Especially the candied bacon on the French toast with caramelized apples & maple cream. Reservations ensure no lining up.

Lovely old building with an authentic northern Canadian feeling. Luckily we had made reservations, as the line up to get in was very long. Great French Canadian music. The food was tasty & a wide variety of meats & dishes were available. We had the chef's special (venison shank with fettuccine & scallops) & the Shepherd's pie. Both were delicious. For dessert we tried the poor man's cake with ice cream. This was not to our liking, but many people recommended it so it was just a personal choice. I would definitely recommend you try this place as it us an unique experience.

Lively restaurant with what I surmise is a French Canadian take on food. Hearty meals that may not appeal to every palate. Live musical entertainment added to the fun

Our visit to La Bouche was one of the highlights of our trip to Quebec.

The food was beyond amazing. The jambon is now on my list as one of the best dishes I have ever had in my life - & that is a looooong life. This dish can easily serve two.

Everyone in our party loved the restaurant. The chefs did an amazing job providing a dinner for one member who is vegan.

The atmosphere was fun. Our waitress was unfailingly polite & accepting of our high-school-level French skills.

I wish I knew how to thank my tour guide who, the day before our visit, mentioned La Bouche & recommended it to those of us on the tour. I would never have known to make reservations without him.

Think about opening a branch in St. Louis, Missouri - we actually share a French heritage. You would be the only Quebecois restaurant in town. - That is probably the only way I could experience that jambon once again. It is sad to realize I never will.

Merci, merci, merci.

We ate at La Buche during a 3-day trip to Quebec City from Calgary, Alberta. The restaurant location is within easy walking distance of anyone staying in the old city. The decor & vibe is outdoorsey casual. The food & service were both fantastic! I had the bison game special of the day. My wife had the French onion soup & the Quebec shepherd's pie. The appetizer & both entrees were cooked to perfection & tasted fantastic. I topped off the evening with a famous Quebec Sugar Pie a la mode. Talk about yummy!!! Team members checked on us numerous times throughout our dining experience. Prices were reasonable for a nice restaurant in the somewhat inflated prices of old town Quebec City. Based on our experience we give La Buche 6 out of 5 (that's right) & would definitely recommend this restaurant to others. Reservations are highly recommended as there was a line of would-be patrons waiting to get in when we left around 7:00pm. Bon apettite sur La Buche!

We loved our experience at La Buche. The service & meal were excellent. Elizabeth had the poached salmon with puff pastry & she was still raving about it the day after. She claimed it was the best poached salmon she had ever had. We also loved the warm inviting theme & that the menu, staff, & music also kspt to the log cabin style. Very French Canadian!
