When I first arrived to Quebec, this was one of the first restaurants I went to now that my trip is over. I have to say this was probably the best place I have been to in Quebec.

Hands-down, the food was definitely out of this world, & I just love the corky Ness
& the vibe inside this restaurant

Highly recommended.. also the bathrooms are really neat too. You can wash your hand underneath the bathtub. It's out of this world definitely my kind of style.

Stayed one night in old Quebec & were struggling to decide where to go. So glad we decided to go to La Bûche. Very eccentric & cabin-type Canadian decor & warm atmosphere & vibe. Food was delicious & hearty. We tried the more unique dishes like the meat pie & beef patty & they were delicious. The atmosphere & service were second to none. Juan Sebastien &
Farida were kind & gave honest recommendations on menu items on what they'd avoid & what they hear great feedback on. Great customer service. We had the last reservation slot & were the last to leave but there was no pressure from the staff at all to depart. Highly recommended. Don't forget to sign the walls!

I think if it's your first time in QC, this is a must do. My partner & I were able to walk in a little after peak lunch time on a Sunday afternoon & we were told the wait would be 30 min, but it was only 5. Also, you do have to wait around as they don't take names/phone numbers. Highly recommend a reservation, especially during peak hours/seasons. Very kitschy & fun atmosphere!

We split pea soup, the meat pie nuggets, & the shepherd's pie. All were excellent & very filling! Also, staff were super nice & helpful when it came to answering questions about the menu. Food came out super fast!

At La Bûche in Quebec City, the combination of good service, great atmosphere, & outstanding food made for an unforgettable experience. The staff were warm & attentive, ensuring every detail was perfect. The tourtière was comforting with its flaky crust & savory filling, while the deer tartare was fresh, tender, & full of flavor. The cozy, rustic ambiance added to the charm, making it a perfect spot to enjoy authentic Quebecois cuisine. Highly recommended!

Liked the complimentary starter of pork rink, unique combination of salty & sweet caramel. Didn't really like the recommended signature Pate Chinois that I ordered, the red wine braised beef was so dried. Wish I would have ordered some other dish. Ordered draft whitbier too but nothing fancy it was quite watery. For such a highly rated restaurant I would expect more. Service is good with smile but the restaurant quite small so it's a bit smoky for me when it's crowded, & there's no place to hang our jackets so it can be a bit stuffy to be around, also the place i sat was too dim of light.

The dinner was delicious, & the service was impeccable. The food was traditional & of good quality, which is to be expected in Quebec. I dined with a group of friends, & we all enjoyed our meals. However, I must mention that the portion size of the tartare was quite small compared to the other dishes. There were a lot of fries & salad, but not much meat. On a positive note, the hot chocolate & cocktails were excellent, & the Canadian music created a perfect atmosphere for our Canadian experience. I highly recommend this place.

This restaurant was recommended by our friends & it was the perfect spot to take a break during our road trip across the Eastern Coast of Canada on our honeymoon. I am originally Canadian, & I wanted to try the breakfast poutine, however I must admit, it was pretty dry & not up to par with the original poutine recipe from Smoke's that I have continued to love for decades. I was very impressed with the atmosphere of the outdoor patio in the back with the vibrant red color of the table linens & the environment was very comfortable. We were immediately greeted as we walked in & were sat comfortably! The service was a bit slow, as it was very crowded. The bathroom design was very unique (see photos). I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a cozy atmosphere to dine in while touring Quebec City.
