Charming woodland bistro atmosphere, attentive staff. The onion soup was a bit too sweet. Sugar added? Or the beer? But the pies (salmon & veal & pork pies) were delicious. Staff was delightful, not too close but attentive.

We liked La Buche, but honestly, our service was very erratic. In fact, our server actually left the table due to a "personal problem" ( according to our replacement server). We generally enjoyed the Rabbit Wings, Shepards Pie, & Poutine La Buche is pretty good, but certainly not great.

A tasty meal with excellent service. We had the ribs which were great. The portions were v generous & tasty. The shepherds pie was a good portion size. The flavour was good. The venison tartare was great.

The restaurant was fine. The food was good. The servers were friendly. But it does live up to its reputation. Dinner started at 5:00 & ended at 7:25. The salmon pie was a salmon fillet with a prominent blood line & a piece of disconnected puff pastry. The short ribs were marvelous but the accompanying fries were starchy. It was good but not special. The restaurant is ok for tourists but not up to QC standards.
