Review Summary

La Buche offers a vibrant and authentic dining experience that captures the heart of traditional Quebecois cuisine. Guests frequently praise the warm, festive atmosphere and the eclectic decor, which includes a notably unique washroom design. While the menu features hearty, comfort-focused dishes such as poutine, tourtière, and various maple-inspired desserts, the attentive and friendly staff consistently enhance the visit. Although the popularity of the restaurant can lead to bustling crowds and the need for reservations, many visitors find the overall quality of the food and the lively cultural immersion well worth the experience.

We really loved the decor of the restaurant & were excited to try the menu. We both ordered appetizers that were very good with good presentation (deer tartare & the house sausage) & couldn't believe how large the main dish sizes were! The ham was delicious, but hard to eat because it was on the bone & sticky from the glaze so I used my bread plate for help. My boyfriend got the meat pie & devoured it. We'd love to go back & try the desserts next time as we had no room left for them on this visit.

This was a great dining experience. The hospitality & friendly, attentive service shown by the staff has set the bar very high for other restaurants. A delicious dinner was topped by the exquisite & unique version of maple pie. We wanted to go back the next night just for dessert but our plans took us elsewhere.
