The atmosphere was great. Food & service was fantastic. Everything we tried from the rabbit wings, to the poutine & deer chops was great. Save some room for dessert. We tried the poor man's cake & it hit the spot.

Le cadre est pittoresque & mérite qu'on s'y arrête. Bravo pour la gentillesse de la serveuse dont je ne connais le prénom qui a tout fait pour tout se passe bien.
On recommandera cette adresse où nous avons trouvé une poutine délicieuse.

Came for dinner. The rabbit wings were delish! Had the poutine special. Wow! Did not need the chicken on top. Ribs were also tremendous. The drinks were so so. Service was friendly but a bit slow. & boy was it hot in there! Would come back for breakfast!

We were told it was ok to come in even though it was close to closing time. Our food arrived to our table within 3 minutes of ordering.
The poutine was cold, the meal presentation horrible & overall a disappointing experience.
We had made reservations months in advance & were looking forward to dining here due to the reviews.
In this beautiful city, filled with wonderful people & many great meal choices; I can't begin to express how bad our time here was.

My son at I ate at La Buche on a sat evening. The restaurant is very relaxed & the food was wonderful. I had the shepherds pie & my son chose the Poutine. Both were great. I will say though, the best part was the pork scratchings as the apps. Yummy.

I would've probably done 2 stars, but those reviews apparently only go to restaurant management. My partner & I went & I can't say we'd recommend it, which is rather disappointing given the restaurant's reputation. We got rabbit wings & a cheese board to start, which were both quite good. The mains are what fell flat. My partner got a tourtiere. It was served tepid, rather than hot, & the pastry on top was baked well past it's prime. Crispy & dry to the point of shattering rather than flaky. The "creamy salad" that came with it was just arugula with dressing, & both the cheese board & rabbit wings already came with a big stack of arugula. I got the grilled cheese (which was good) with a poutine (which was bad). The fries in the poutine were over cooked because they tasted kind of burnt. & the fries tasted stale, like they had been sitting around for a while first. Can't say we'd recommend this place.
