Food was great, waiter was nice but inattentive. I was never able to request a drink refill. I tried to get their attention several times but he'd constantly look away while near our table. My glass was empty most of our visit & by the time he came back around, we were done with our food & ready to pay.

I'd still recommend trying this place out though.

An excellent restaurant that reinterprets local cuisine with creativity while mantaining its roots.

The pâté chinois & the mixed plate inspired by traditional cabane à sucre dishes were outstanding.

Great attention to detail throughout. For example, instead of paper towels in the restroom, they provide real hand towels, a thoughtful touch that reflects the care they put into every aspect of the dining experience. Highly recommended.

La Bûche, dans le Vieux-Québec : une superbe découverte!

En arrivant, j'avais quand même un peu peur de tomber sur un restaurant attrape-touristes. Dès l'ouverture du menu, cette impression a complètement disparu.

On a eu droit à une véritable expérience culinaire québécoise. Le décor est magnifique, chaleureux & typiquement d'ici, digne des plus belles cabanes à sucre.

Du début à la fin, le repas a été un véritable régal. Les saveurs sont au rendez-vous, les portions sont généreuses & le menu met en valeur toute la richesse & la diversité de la cuisine québécoise.

Si vous êtes de passage dans le Vieux-Québec, ou même si vous êtes de la région, c'est une adresse que je recommande sans hésiter. Une expérience authentique qui fait honneur au bon goût & à notre patrimoine culinaire

We were on vacation in Quebec City. A local taxi driver & our hotel recommended this restaurant. We had an evening dinner & sat outside. The waitress was wonderful, the food was great & our experience was amazing! Oh, if you sit outside, ask about the connection to Canadian hockey history.

Overall, I felt this place was a bit overpriced, but the decor is definitely something to appreciate - it features a lot of unique taxidermy & rustic details that give it a cool atmosphere.

Recommend:
Sugar Shack Plate: This is a classic French Canadian dish & worth trying just to get a genuine taste of traditional Québécois flavors!
A few highlights from the plate:
- The Baked Beans: Delightfully sweet (thanks to the local maple syrup!).
- Cretons: A traditional, cold savory pork spread simmered with spices. Texture-wise, it strangely reminds me a bit of canned tuna lol
- Fried Meatball: Crispy & fried on the outside, filled with savory minced beef on the inside, & served with a bright tomato sauce.

Do Not Recommend:
Poutine: I'd skip this one here.

What's not to like about La Bouche? It's a whimsical & fun place to eat in old Quebec.

It is always busy so reservation is recommended.

The staff are friendly, multilingual, professional but not clingy.

The food is traditional Quebecoise. The four of us sampled many dishes & all were very good. I started with the New Fashioned cocktail which is delicious. We enjoyed cheese plate, all quality. My wife enjoyed the pea soup which was tasty. I enjoyed a traditional meat pie. Friends enjoyed their varied choices as well.

This is an experience you should enjoy when you visit Quebec.

A truly wonderful experience from start to finish! The food was exceptional, the atmosphere was warm & inviting, & the authentic Québécois décor & music made the experience feel incredibly special. Every dish was delicious, & our server was both kind & entertaining, adding to the overall charm of the evening. If you're looking for a genuine traditional Québécois dining experience, this is the place. I highly recommend it!

This was our first time to eat at La Buche. Our friends that live near Quebec City recommended this restaurant when we asked them where we could eat traditional French Canadian cuisine….right away they said…'La Buche'.

The food was great. The drinks were very good. The dessert was delicious. The service was friendly. Overall we had a great dining experience.
