C'est pas fini j'ai pas parlé de la nourriture & du service. Le tartare de cerf est succulent, leurs bières sont très bonnes. Le service est impeccable & joviale comme l'endroit.
Stayed one night in old Quebec & were struggling to decide where to go. So glad we decided to go to La Bûche. Very eccentric & cabin-type Canadian decor & warm atmosphere & vibe. We had the last reservation slot & were the last to leave but there was no pressure from the staff at all to depart. Highly recommended. Don't forget to sign the walls!
I think if it's your first time in QC, this is a must do. My partner & I were able to walk in a little after peak lunch time on a Sunday afternoon & we were told the wait would be 30 min, but it was only 5. Also, you do have to wait around as they don't take names/phone numbers. Highly recommend a reservation, especially during peak hours/seasons. Very kitschy & fun atmosphere!
We split pea soup, the meat pie nuggets, & the shepherd's pie. All were excellent & very filling! Also, staff were super nice & helpful when it came to answering questions about the menu. Food came out super fast!

We tried the Sugar Shack sample plate, & it was absolutely delicious! The ham, candied bacon, pâté, & crêpe were definite standouts. So flavorful & well-prepared. The décor was pure Canadiana, which I absolutely loved, it really added to the charm of the place.
That said, the atmosphere was very tight & chaotic, which made it a bit overwhelming at times. Unfortunately, our server didn't check in with us during the meal, & some of the food on our platter was cold, which was disappointing, especially after trekking through a blizzard to get there.
Overall, the food was fantastic, & the ambiance was unique, but a little more attentiveness & better temperature control would have made the experience perfect! Would still recommend it for the great flavors & fun vibe.
Fantastic service & delicious food. Such a fun atmosphere, menu, & experience. Cannot recommend it more if you are visiting Quebec. We made a reservation - & you definitely need it during a busy season or weekend. Otherwise you will be turned away at the door. A bunch of people were lining up hoping to get a seat for dinner when we arrived for our reservation at 5pm. P.s. Get the meat nuggets!
