As we arrived we were given pork rinds that I am sure were stail, which seems odd if they are given away at the rate I assume they are given, but they tasted bad. I had the tourtiere: I wish there was more tomatoe relish as that was the best thing on my plate. The salad dressing was flavorless & because the meat & crust are just introduced before serving the different parts of the meal seem unrelated. My husband had the Shepard's pie: the bacon was tasty the potatoes were good but once again the parts were prepared independently so the flavors never had time to blend. I get it probably is easier for the kitchen but as the consumer we were underwhelmed.

Bonjour,

Notre serveur était courtois, souriant & poli. Toutefois, il a commencé très tôt à desservir la table (incluant le napperon) aussitôt que l'un d'entre nous avait terminé de manger. On ressentait une certaine pression. Nous avons quitté après 75 minutes.

Nous étions 5 personnes & 4 ont mangé la tourtière & notre repas était froid, la salade à la crème ne goutait pas du tout la crème. l'éclairage est trop fort. Nous avions une table près de la porte d'entrée & nous avions des spots directement sur nous. Le resto m'avait été recommandé mais je n'y retournerais pas. Merci

Most of the food was good & some (e.g. the Bison, which was that evening's special) remarkable. We were presented with an appetizer that included fried pork rinds: 3 of us (out of 4, the 4th did not try them) perceived the oil of the rinds to be rancid so, out of consideration for the staff & other customers, we reported that to the very nice & appropriately responsive server. We were appalled when the "chef" (we don't know which chef) came out to present us with an unapologetic & defensive story about how they were not rancid; this person did not ask any questions about our perspectives & interrupted us when we tried to start a comment. He then brusquely removed the entire appetizer plate & walked off. The above ratings do not consider this disgusting interaction whatsoever, since that would do an injustice to the otherwise neutral-to-positive experience with La Buche. I will not return, & my companions expressed a similar opinion.

They forgot my halibut which finally arrived after everyone else was almost done eating. It was lukewarm which was very disappointing. I didn't want to send it back as our party was done eating already.
