Review Summary

La Buche stands out as a vibrant and unique destination in Old Quebec, celebrated for its authentic and hearty interpretation of traditional Québécois comfort food. Guests frequently praise the lively, rustic atmosphere and the exceptionally friendly, professional service that makes both locals and visitors feel welcome. While the menu highlights include standout dishes like the tourtière, shepherd's pie, and various maple-infused desserts, the restaurant's distinct decor and famously unconventional washroom setup add a memorable layer to the overall dining experience. Although it is a popular spot that can become quite busy, leading some to recommend reservations, the majority of patrons find the combination of high-quality ingredients, generous portions, and spirited ambiance to be a highlight of their time in the city.

The brunch was amazing. We had the crepes & French toast. Some of the best meals we've had in a long time. The service was super quick as well

Lively atmosphere, fantastic service just steps away from the Chateau Frontenac. Fl
Shephard's pie & tourtiere were well presented with balanced flavours.

Best meal of our trip to Quebec City! Thoroughly enjoyed the Quebecoise cuisine especially the pan fried fois gras & poor man's pudding & bacon.

Food was good overall. Smoked trout appetizer was fantastic. Poutine was good (I'm still not a fan of cheese curds). Poor man's pudding was tasty. Deer tartare was the best version of venison I've ever eaten. Music was too loud, waitstaff was helpful.

The oatmeal was terrific! It was a large serving of oatmeal, flax seeds, bananas, berries & maple syrup served in a pot.
